i was recommended by my personal trainer to buy Cathe DVDs as i want to be able to do some workouts at home.
i am used to high intensity, fast, advanced workouts by great instructors.. so as you can imagine am looking for this kind of workout in the DVDsi choose.
To start i would want one cardio and one body sculpting/wght DVD.

i heard great things about Cathe. Any specific recommendations?
thanks!

great - thanks so much for the advice
can you tell me a bit more about the IMAX3 (intense cardio) series.

also have you ever tried.. IMAX 2 and/or Step Fit, Power Max, and any of the kickboxing??

I'd also vote for Muscle Max if you're looking for just one total-body weights DVD.

The Imax workouts are all interval workouts, and they're really tough. Imax 2 and Cathe's kickboxing DVD's are also great! Check out some of the previews to see if you like how they look.:)

Hi tamtam,

Imax was the original step interval workout that Cathe created, and it was so great that she made two new versions, Imax 2 and Imax 3, with completely different choreography. I prefer 2 and 3 over the original version, and they're definitely *intense* workouts. I love them both, but my impression is that the favorite of the two is Imax 2, so that might be a good one to start with, and it comes with the Cardio & Weights (a circuit workout) with it.

As for kickboxing workouts, I love both Kick Max and Kick, Punch, Crunch, but, again, the favorite seems to be KPC, so I would recommend buying that one. It also comes with a second workout (Legs & Glutes), though, which raises the cost a bit more.

If you're looking to save money, then maybe go with Muscle Max and then either Imax 3 or Kick Max, but if you'd like the extra workouts, then I'd say get Muscle Max, along with Imax2/C&W or KPC/L&G.

Hope this helps!:)

I know -- Cathe is so wonderful that her workouts are very addictive! I bought four last year to start off, but in less than a year had about 35 workouts!

I *thought* I was in good shape, but the first few times I did Imax 3 (one of the first ones I bought), I thought I was going to have a heart attack each time!:)

I would vote for Imax 2. Love the intensity of the intervals it always works me good and my favorite full body weight workout is muscle max and muscle endurance. If I had to reccomend only one though it would be body max 2 90 minutes of cardio, upper body and lower body weights, oh and abs too. It also has great premixes.

KPC! Imax 3 is my favorite of the Imax workouts. I also agree with MM for total body.

Another idea would be to purhcase BootCamp/Muscle Endurance DVD. The weight work in Muscle Endurance isn't quite as challenging as Muscle Max but it is a great, great workout. Boot Camp is on the same DVD and it alternates one minute of tough cardio followed by one minute of lower body work followed by one minute of upper body work followed by one minute of core. It has some awesome premixes and one premix that combines portions of Boot Camp and Muscle Endurance. I aslo enjoy Imax 2 and it is nice that you get Cardio & Weights on the same DVD.

Yea, I'd start with:
Boot Camp/Muscle Endurance
Imax 2/Cardio & Weights
That's 4 complete workouts on two DVD's not including all the premix options.
You will enjoy whatever you decide to purchase!

kick punch and crunch or body blast super sets are great.
after that you are going to want more and MORE.:p :p

RE: kickboxing DVDs

I didn't think I would like Kick Max, but it is a lot of fun to do and totally different from KPC. Of course, KPC gives you the legs and glutes workout, but KM gives you those great leg conditioning drills. I just decided to get both :)

RE: kickboxing DVDs

ahhh.. while all the advice everyone is giving me is soo appreciated, it is getting harder and harder to make a decion!

they all sound great- but what i really need to start are like 2 really good, intense cardio work out dvds and perhaps one body conditioning/wgt training one,

thoughts on the top 2 cardio-- would it be IMAX 2 and KPC? or another one??
