I MUST bid farewell to my latest junk food addiction!

BAM

Cathlete
Since the holidays (yes, I know how long ago they were), I have not been able to get back on track to healthy eating which is how I normally eat. I've tried to motivate myself (actually I haven't really but I like to "think" that I have :) ) but haven't quite accomplished it yet. So a few weeks ago I discovered Cheetos Twisted Puffs. OMG is all I have to say! They are so cheesey and twisty and you get more than a mouthful in an unbroken piece. I'm going to try and put a sensible eating program together and these will NOT be on my list so I did what any rational person would do..........I finished up bag one yesterday and just finished bag two today. Now there are no more in my house. Must not buy more, must not buy more! Hopefully it was a fleeting obsession but boy oh boy, it was the most heavenly, decadent addiction these taste buds have encountered in awhile. Now I must bid a fond farewell, adieu, and adios to a (hopefully) short term friend who was there for me when I needed one. Thanks *sniff* for the memories! I hope we can meet again on different terms, perhaps at a party or outdoor event. It will be comforting to know that you're still out there. Take care!

LOL, Bam, I haven't seen those! Nor will I start looking, thank you. My go-to salty snack is Cheez-Its. I love those things. I don't keep them in the house, though, and generally just eat them on vacation. Can you make your beloved Cheetos a vacation treat? For me, that means I get to eat them for a week two or three times per year.

Anne, gotta love those Cheez-Its. Anything cheesey is good. Right now, I can't even consider them in my near future. It would be a futile thought. If fate would like us to come together on better terms someday, so be it. For now I know that a bag opened is a bag vacant! :)

Whole Foods makes a "Cheeto" like snack. Like those white cheddar all natural ones but yellow and somehow different (I like them better). They had a sample and they really are not that bad. I could hardly quit eating them so they are not allowed in the house now!

Are you talking about Tings? They sell them at Whole Foods and are close to the crunchy cheetos. REALLY GOOD!

The same company (Robert's American Gourmet) also makes something called Smart Puffs that are like the puffy cheetos.

My kids love them and their friends at school ask them to share their lunch all the time.

Um, excuse me but I'm trying to get rid of an addiction not find a substitute for it. You guys are just a bunch of enablers. :) :) :)

You could always switch to my current obsession. lol. TCBY mint chocolate chip frozen yogurt. well a little bit wouldn't be bad but I can down a half a quart or more. well I have an excuse I'm 8 mo preggo lol. but still someone help me!!! my only comfort is atleast its frozen yogurt instead of strait ice cream. I'm not even normally an ice cream person but I have a serious craving issue with it. I'm getting embarrased that the worker there keeps seeing me.

I can sooo relate. I havent been able to get back on track since Thanksgiving I have put on 10lbs. so depressing, Yet for what ever reason I have had so much going on entertaining wise which mean eating, drinking ,eating again. I keep saying this is it I'm getting back on track but I havent as I sit here and eat a piece of carrot cake that a friend brought over this weekend. Sigh. tommorrow is another day!

Congratulations on your pregnancy! You certainly do have a good excuse. Since you're down to the homestretch, you might as well enjoy your next month of indulgence. What a great reason to satisfy the palate! Have some for me!

Mine started just before Halloween with all the candy brought into work. I allowed myself to continue through the holidays and figured I'd put a halt to it after the New Year but like you, I've been out to a lot of events with mucho eating opportunities. I really am going to commit to a change within the next week but I'm going to make it reasonable. Now off I go to have some bar mix while I ponder my eating plan. :)

OMG! That was so funny and so TRUE!!! You took the words right out of my mouth for all I'm trying to do...My niece and I are dying laughing. She said "did they read my mind?!?!"

Thank you for the lovely benediction to all our junk friends - who really are a one night stand that only leave us with their fat. Evil one nighters! :)

I'm so glad you and your niece could commiserate here. Perhaps we should have a eulogy, uh, that is, if we can truly put them to rest. :)

Have you tried the White Cheddar Cheetos-so good and they're "All Natural";)

You enabler, you!

I always think that the sooner I eliminate any temptation the sooner I'll be able to get back on track. Somehow, something else always seems to appeal to my taste buds. (Cinnamon Bears..MMMMM!)

How cute! LOL!

I feel the same way about foods like that. It was a great farewell you gave. I believe down the road sometime, you will meet again for just a brief moment. Then, let go, because you will find out that you've changed and no longer need that crutch.

Those Cheetos Twists are incredible. I'm glad Up until now that I didn't know they had been reissued. Gee, thanks! :p

The Xs and Os come in a close second.

No - these are Whole Foods brand - they come in a bag with varying shades of dark yellows. They are like the puffs rather than the crunchy ones. Great...Tings :p I am going to try to forget that on my next run to Whole Foods!!

You know, when I first started reading these forums, because it is a fitness forum I had in my mind that everybody was trim, fit, ran a marathon every other weekend, could do I-Max 3 blast 5 times in a row without stopping, and ate ONLY the healthiest of foods.

After being on the forums for a while now, I am comforted to know that we are all very much alike!!!!

As for my junk food addiction - well, that seems to be just about everything in my cabinet these days!!!

Good Luck Bam! Let us know how you make out!!!!
