I miss John Denver!

I loved him too! I wonder why they don't play more of him as well.

"Grandma's Feather Bed" was a good one! And of course, "Sunshine on my Shoulder".

I agree, I bet a lot of artists are difficult to live with. I read Eric Clapton's autobiography, and he had/has some MAJOR issues.

My daughters love, "Thank God I'm A Country Boy." They are neither "Country" nor "boy," but it speaks to them anyway. :D

That is my favorite!! I have that one on my ipod and listen to it while I am working out. I love the fiddle in that one.

I'm a Denver fan, too. I remember standing on top of Mt Princeton in the Rockies (my first "14er") and thinking of "Rocky Mountain High" and thinking just how appropriate the lyrics were. I did feel that I was born that day. I know my passion for fitness was. Fitness for me has never been about my waist line, but about keeping a level of conditioning that will allow me to go out and climb another mountain whenever the opportunity arises.

Huge fan as well. We had the song "Follow Me" at our wedding. I still have at least nine of his albums (no turntable anymore) and a couple of tapes.

When I was twelve I would lay on my bed and listen to his albums and dream of living in the mountains or traveling with Jaques Cousteau on his ship Calypso (and of course, meeting John ....).

I saw him once, years later, at the Mall of America signing books. It was clear he had been drinking and I was deeply disappointed. It can not be an easy life to be famous.

I still loved him in the Muppet specials and I still love his music. Thanks for all the memories. I think I'll go find the tapes I have and listen right now.
