I just ordered STS, because...

I think I am better prepared to handle it. I recently took a couple of months off of heavy (for me) lifting. I was worn out. Didn't see me doing it again, but after time off, my strength has really shown itself. I guess I just needed more recovery time than I was giving myself. I am taking the Pyramid dvd in bite-sized pieces right now and loving it. And...I discovered I can do REAL pushups!!!!!!! Ya'll, I tried forever (been doing Cathe for 1 1/2 years) before and couldn't do em, then out of the blue I did it before I even realized it.:)

My past routines have been 3 weeks of one 3 day split, then 3 weeks of another 3-day split, etc. When I get STS, I may take more than one week of rest between the cycles, especially the first time through. I think my body just needs more recovery maybe, but then I've never given it a week of recovery either. If I take 2 or 3 weeks between cycles, how do you think that will work?

I am excited about STS, but don't want to over-do it again.
Thanks,
Sandra

If you think about it, STS may actually be less time working out than a lot of people here do. It is splits, it is 3 times a week for about an hour. I find this type of split does not wear me out as it gives ample time for recovery. It is when I try to do full body multiple times a week that I get more tired.

I am looking forward to STS!

You will both do great with STS. It is a very easy to follow program that only takes 3 days a week of your time (for 12 weeks). Each disc per week is labeled and laid out before you. No guess work involved. Then on the other days in that week, you are free to insert whatever cardio, abs, or stretching you want to do. It is that easy. Enjoy:)

Dorothy, thanks for the advice.

And Cathe thanks for the encouragement. You often say in your workouts, "Listen to your body..." and I am finding that so true! I gotta tell you, it sure was inspiring to find real pushup doable and even my cardio greatly improved. I took on Imax 3 blasts only last week and loved it. I am very excited about STS. I know it will be a quality production. You do great work!:)

Happy Memorial Day!:)

Thanks Cathe, my only problem will be when to fit the 3 months into training goals I already have. I am doing a half marathon in August which will be quite a stretch and challenge for me(see I am not afraid of challenges!), so will have to start STS after that I think.

It will be a fresh change after all the cardio training.

Hey Cathe. I Ordered the STS last night and cannot wait to get started. Are the DVD's going to come with any kind of booklet on how to get started and the suggested workouts for the days in between? I noticed that on the Blog it stated there was going to be some suggestions. Thank you.

You could always use it independent of a 3 month periodization -- do the workouts from just one Mesocycle in with your other training (if it works -- I'm not sure of your schedule). Good luck with your marathon!
