I JUST CAN'T MAKE UP MY MIND !

Bernard

Cathlete
Hi All,

I will be ordering my next batch of Cathe videos tomorrow, and I still can't make up my mind. I will be ordering 3 or 4 vids, 2 will definitely be MIS and Powerhour, as I have a lack of strength work videos but what do I order for the final 2 ???????????????????? (I already have MSB, Wedding, Imax, CMax, Cardio Kicks & Powermax). I HATE decisions !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP !

I have been checking out other Cathe step vids, and they all look soooo hard, especially Step Works, I will never be able to do that in a million years ! Rhythmic Step looks promising as it is a somewhat slower pace. I like the look of Body Max but it is so long ?

Oh.....HELP !

Thanks

Anna :)

Hi Anna,

I can tell you that Rhythmic Step is a killer! Very fast paced & pretty intense. I've actually heard that Step Works is easier. That being said, I love Rhythmic Step.

I also own both MIS & Power Hour. They are very different from each other. I love them both, but I think MIS is probably my fav. You won't be sorry!

Deborah

Hi Anna! I don't have Rhythmic Step YET...but, I do have Step Works. It is a BLAST!!!! Also, Step Jam and Step Max are two great workouts! Dated, but very good workouts. :) Have fun, and good luck!

Hollie

Cathe's older step vids like Step Jam, Step Max, Step Heat, and Step Fit are not too hard for you I'm sure, don't be afraid to try them you WILL be able to catch on to them. I know if I did anyone can ;-)

And of course don't forget if you order 4 videos you get that 5th one free (that applies with you ordering in the UK too doesn't it?)

That's a tough decision! I love both Rhythmic Step and Step Works. They're both so much fun! Step Works is easier in terms of choreography but more intense than RS. BodyMax is long but very versatile. I really like the upper body work in BM. It's very thorough and fairly short. The step portion is pretty intense. It's one of Cathe's more difficult tapes in terms of intensity IMHO.

I guess what I'd recommend is getting either Step Works or Rhythmic Step plus Step Heat. Step Heat is a great intermediate Cathe tape. It's not too long and has a really good ab section. It also includes most of Cathe's standard choreography but at a slower pace. Once you master Step Heat you should be able to master any other Cathe step tape. I wouldn't get MIC unless you like traditional high impact aerobics. I don't so I sold MIC on ebay.

Step Works and Rhythmic Step. Get them both.

THe former is not over dancy: it is intense in the stamina department. It has great energy blasts and it'll kick up your fitness level. Since it is in three sections, you don't have to think about mastering it all at once. To my mind, it's up there with Body Max on the endurance department. It has always been one of my favourites.

Rhythmic Step is slower paced, less intense and so the focus goes on choreography much more. It is a tape to have to compliment to IMAX, Body MAx and Step works in that, after a day of really gunning it, Rhythmic Step gives you a consistent fat-burner at a lower pace with added fun. The music is great and it's a video you can really cut loose on and just enjoy. I never think about the moves any more. I barely look at the screen either. I start stepping, the music takes me away and the odd bit of cueing from Cathe creeps into my consiousness occasionally, but it's just me and my body moving and some great music. I get a workout and I don't even have to have my brain switched on.

I am not a dancer either. Some people write in and say Rhythmic Step is too choreographically challenging. Well, I have tried to take dance classes in Flamenco, salsa, African, Brazilian dance and failed them all. I am never on the same foot as anyone else. You can't re-wind the dance teacher. But Rhythmic Step I had down after the third try.

Anna, try not to always go for the max intensity stuff. You want to build a workout library that covers the range of high energy days and low energy days. If you do IMAX type stuff everyday, burn out will be knocking on your door. So, maybe Rhythmic Step would be a good addition right now to your fitness library, especially if you are ordering Power Hour which will kick your butt. Just wait til you get to those lower ends lunges.....

RE: THANKYOU !

Hi Everyone,

Thankyou so much for your input - I 'think' I have come to a final choice, I am going to go for:

MIS, POWERHOUR, STEP HEAT AND (PROBABLY :-hmmm) RHYTHMIC STEP

I have only one hang up about Rhythmic Step, and that is when I watched the preview, the music didn't seem to do anything for me. Maybe I shouldn't get hung up about the music, as I only watched a 10 minute preview ? Despite that it looks like a cool workout. So, oh what the heck, I will go for Rhythmic Step !

I am soo excited and I haven't even ordered them yet :-jumpy !

Edith - I order my vids from CK Sales in Canada, as the exchange rate is better , and the UK customs have a nasty habit of opening parcels that come into the UK, from the US and charging you for the privilege of opening them. It is a shame they don't do the same offer as SNM.

Clare - you are right, I have enough endurance tapes for the time being, I need more step routines that I can slot in. I still haven't attempted Powermax yet (had it a month), though I feel brave to face it this week. In January, I will be going for the CTX series, which will also be good smaller workouts to slot in too.

Thankyou for your help !

Anna :)

RE: THANKYOU !

Hi Anna,

Do you mind if I call you by your name?.

I am from the uk also, and I saw your message about ordering vids from CK sales in Canada.
Could you tell me more about this? you see I have recently become a Cathe fan and when I placed my first order for some dvds, the UK customs charged me nearly fourty pounds on delivery, which as you could imagine was quite a shock. I have now also ordered the new pre sales dvds as I just could not resist,(can you picture me now biting my nails and sweating, at the thought of the customs charge) as I wait in anticipation.

Anyway about this Ck sales, do they have a website? mail order? etc, etc, do they sell cathe's dvds or am I pushing it slightly.
I await your reply.

RE: THANKYOU !

Hi Hotchick,

£40's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
B****Y H**L !
OMG, no wonder you were shocked, I am shocked  ! When it happenned to me, I had ordered for my Parents a collectible ornament from California, and customs charged me £9 for opening the parcel to check what it was ! I was miffed at my £9 charge, but £40s!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG !!!!!!

I order my cathe vids from CK Sales in Canada (www.cksales.com) - the exchange rate is fantastic - I think for Imax they charge $21.95 for the video, which roughly works out at about £8-£9. Not sure about DVDs though. The shipping is really good too, about £10-£11 for 2-4 videos or 7 DVD's, and they were running a pre-sale offer on Cathe's new intensity series. Which I haven't gone for yet as I am trying to 'master' the others first.
Yes, they do sell Cathe's DVDs, and they sell the Powerstrike vids you may of heard being mentioned on the forum.

Check them out, their service is brilliant, it takes about 7-10 days to receive an order from them, which is BRILLIANT ! They don't have as huge a stock as Collage, but they stock Cathe and that is what is important !
Wherabouts are you in the UK, Hotchick ?

Hope this has been of some help. Isn't Cathe FANTASTIC ?!?! :7

Anna :)

Body Max is an excellent video to have. I have gone back to it many times.(It did take me a while before I could do the whole workout at once.)
One great advantage of BM is that it can be done in several different ways.
1. Do the whole video for an awesome total body workout
2. Do the step and power circuit segments for a great cardio and lower body challenge.
3. Do the warm up,the power circuit segment and upper body segment for a total endurance workout in just under an hour.

RE: THANKYOU !

Ha Ha,

Hi Anna you have just made me laugh.

Yes Cathe is superb, and imagine this I have only discovered her a few months ago and I am already hooked. Thanks for the info on the canadian website, I am going to check it out just as soon as I get this message typed (with one finger),I have to say that though I am grateful for the information, I have just let out a primal scream because I have already ordered the new pre sale vids as well as circuit max, I did this last week just before the sale ended, so if I see them all cheaper through CK sales as well as the avoidance of custom fees then I really am going to cry.
Oh well! Ive done it now.
Oh and to answer your question I live in Birmingham England.

Hotchick.

RE: THANKYOU !

Hi Hotchick,

I don't live too far away from you, I live near Mansfield, north of Nottingham. DH's parents live in Leicestershire. I wonder if you got a whacking great customs charge because of Cathe's websites tracking thing that goes on the order. So far, I have been lucky, I have never had to pay customs fees on videos from Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. The Post Office did say that they randomly check parcels at customs, and that we may of just been unlucky ?

Hope you enjoyed browsing through CK Sales !

Anna :)

BTW, Welcome to the Forum !

I love Rhythmic Step!!!! It just gets right in there from warm up to cool down! I love workouts that don't have all the warm up and break down stuff. I don't like a lot of fast lunges or squats in the warm ups...and lets do that on the other side crap. The new tapes are fantastic because they just "throw it at ya!".
