I am so happy!

I began taking Cymbalta for my depression and I can definitely tell my moods are better!

I actually bought fresh flowers for the first time in years!
 
That's great to hear, Amy. Will this drug keep off the weight you lost after going off the last set of meds? What are the side effects of this drug?

Hi Lorrayne,

On clinical trials, Cymbalta does not cause weight gain. If anything it causes weight loss.

But it is certainly not a drug to consider for weight loss alone.

The only side effects I had at the beginning of treatement were:
Very slight nausea, dry mouth, and I was a bit drowsy.

Now the side effects are not there.

I feel better every day.

I am very glad for you! I found one that worked for me about a year ago. It was so nice to feel good for a long period of time and not have a med that stopped working after 3 months.

Amy thats great news.

Sorry to hijack the thread but i started on an antidepressent about 5 weeks ago it seemed to work for the first 4 weeks and now its like it has stopped and the "evil" thoughts are back, is it possible i need to switch pills.Thanks
 
Yes, I'd say ask your doc to try something else or maybe have him up the dose. He or she should be able to adjust the meds for you. Sometimes it takes awhile to find the right med.
