I hate to complain but...

Miss Lee

...here I go.

It's exactly the same year after year. In the last remaining days before Christmas we always get a delivery from good ole mom and dad (DH's mom and dad). It is ALWAYS the SAME: 1 box of chocolate covered macadamia nuts from Swiss Colony, 1 box of Petit Fours (does anybody really like those?), also from Swiss Colony, and 4 packages of smoked salmon from TAKU. I think their might be seismic shifts in the earth's crust if they sent chocolate covered peanuts one time!!!

I know I sound hideous---and of course, I am grateful that they remember me at all. I guess I just needed to vent because I will just smile at them and say "thank you"---UGH!!

actually i like petit fours LOL. with all the great chocolates they have out there like the pot of gold's or dare i say the chocolate covered cherrie :9

Maybe they'll discontinue the products next year <VBG>

5 yrs ago my oldest sister thought it would be neat to send everyone in the family a Christmas card with a saying or article or cartoon every day from Thanksgiving through Christmas. It was a little bit cute the first year but also overwhelming. But by year 5, it got to the point none of us opened most of them. I felt bad because I know she loved doing it, but it drove me crazy.

Thankfully, this year it stopped :) So there is hope for you...maybe

Colleen

Thank you Colleen. You've given me hope--LOL!

This tradition started 20 years ago. Last year we didn't even open the stuff--we re-gifted and gave it to someone else}(

Michele,
I have to laugh at your post....for the last 5 years my stepmom has sent my DH the wrong size shirt for X-mas (funny thing...she used to send him the right size). I just don't have the heart to tell her it is way too big for him. I've never bothered to take them back to the store...too much bother plus I really would feel funny. I'm hoping Good Will can make good use of them next time they collect. The goofy things we do when the holidays come and we don't want to hurt their feelings....LOL.

Robin

PS. I'll let you know when the "big" shirt gets here.....;-)

I love petit fours!

My aunt used to send us a ton of junk food for every holiday even though I begged her not to. She was obese and suffered from uncontrolled diabetes and it was hard for me to understand why she insisted on sending so much junk to us, even though I think she thought sending us food showed us how much she loved us.

She died this year. I don't miss the junk food, but I sure miss her.:(

Awwww, Erica,

I'm sorry for your loss. I lost a dear aunt and uncle this year as well and I miss them terribly:-(

LOL Robin!

I know exactly what you mean. My MIL gives my DH shirts from the big and tall store. The problem is, my DH isn't that big!! He's tall, but those shirts are HUGE! I swear you could tailor 5 shirts out of the fabric they use to produce one--LOL! It's just funny and no matter how many times we tell her that he doesn't need big and tall sizes, we cannot get her to stop buying them.

This made me laugh. A coworker was complaining yesterday. She is a vegetarian, has been for years. Her sister-in-law, whom she despises, just sent her filet mignon as a gift. What a slap!
