I Hate Cardio Check-In, 4/3

Good morning haters!!

It looks like none of us were around yesterday. I didn't login until late in the day and didn't feel it was worthwhile to start this thread that late.

I did HSC (circuit---NOT cahllenge) on Saturday. I had a startling revelation over the weekend. I'm going to have to ramp it up here if I expect results;( , so, I've made a decision and I hope I can tough it out. I'm going to start a Cathe rotation--her Official Beginners Rotation. I've chose this particular rotation for 2 reasons: 1)I only have the beg/intermediate DVD's, and 2)I'm just not any good at step work outs. There's only about 3 days of cardio in this rotation so I'll probably walk or do floor aerobics 2 or 3 days also. My goal is to try to adapt to the step and to lose weight which isn't happening with Leslie Sansone.

This is a 3 month rotation but I'm hoping I'll be able to bump up the intensity long befor the 3 months is up. I know I will with the strength portion. I haven't done much weight work in the past year, but I have a lot of experience with it and I'm pretty strong, so I'll start out slow but I'll be in the groove before too long.

Wish me luck!

Michele

Good Morning to all the haters!

Michele,

I think you should just start up fast and do 10 miles first, whatcha think? Good luck, so you won't be needing an oxygen tank for this rotation?

I am going to be working out all body parts today and then doing some plyometrics. Plyometrics is something I love. Love the jumping! No oxygen tank for me either, but maybe tomorrow? LOL!

Charlotte~~

Fab morning to all the haters:

Michele-I am with you. I have turned over a new leaf and I am going to see results. Bumping up the cardio to 6 days a week and keeping the weights to only 3. I am also adding back in running and watching the diet. Have about 10 more lbs to loose to be back to pre-preggo weight. I don't think eating the diet my DH follows (the one consisting of fast food, mac and cheese, ice cream, cookies, cokes, etc). is doing me any good.
So, I am glad you are doing on the kick and I will fed ex you the oxygen tank tonight. I will put it for priority delivery. :p

Charlotte~ you go girl with the plyo. I have a love/hate relationship with the pylo thing. Got to be in the right mood for it, know what I mean. Rock on sista!

Diane~ or should we call you "high roller" now since you got the raise. When you are done paying off some of your students loans can you send me a check to pay off mine? I will start my own charity and you can make it a taz donation. I told you I had a finance degree.....hello Enron #2!! hehehehe!
How was your weekend? How is the hair?

Dana~ How are the boys? Did you guys have a good weekend? What's on your plate for the day?

Ok I am off lowmax time. Be back for more later!

Have a great morning everyone!

Jana

Yay Michele! Starting a rotation!!!

Boy, Charlotte....I wish I loved Plyo. I think it is truly the thing I dread the most and I know it is so good for me.

Jana, I did lowmax Saturday.....but I did blow off Sunday again. Oh well. I guess one out of two isn't too bad...is it? Today is the start of a fresh new week so that is a good way of looking at things right:)

I am going to attempt TLT today....EFM today. I guess that will be a good start if I make it there.

Robin

Hi Everyone -

Michele - I think that is a great decision. It is good to have lighter days still, but sometimes you just need to ramp up the intensity to see results.

Charlotte - This whole plyo thing is making me want to go do my old high school workouts again. I need to find a nice track with stadium seating to do it though. The hardest workout we used to do consisted of alternating running up the stands, then going straight to running a lap around the track, then straight to doing plyometric jumps and stuff down the field, and then puking. Do that about 10 times and you will get a great workout. It was so tough but I was in such great shape. Then again, I was 14 yrs old. Of course I was skinny then.

Jana - Not sure if you can call me "high roller" at this point. Maybe once the loans are paid off (in several years) and we can actually use the extra money for fun stuff, then you can call me high roller. The hair is alright, though not his best work. I don't think he cut enough off, which means I just have to go back for another cut sooner. He either cuts too much, or not enough!

Dana - How was your weekend? Whats on tap today?

This weekend was pretty great. We went out and bought Ipod nanos for DH and myself and downloaded our favorite cds onto it. Then we did our 30 min run/walk on Sunday at the park. My lungs were just dying. But it was much more fun running to music.

This morning I did another 30 min run/walk, this time bumping it up to 8 min running, 2 min walking. I felt a little better today, except I started getting horrible stomach cramps 1/2 way through. That has never happened to me before. I just felt sick after the run. I ate the same breakfast as usual before a run, so I don't know what happened. Yuck.

Hey Cardio Haters!

Yesterday I moved furniture all day to get ready for HW Floor refinishing in the kids rooms. Not so much cardio..but I was moving!

Today will be challenging as I have workers in my house till????? Probably no cardio till tonight and thats always dangerous for not doing it...but I really need to.

So I'll keep checking in all day to stay motivated!

Yeah for all doing rotations. I need to plan a few more weeks out on mine, as I'm starting to get bored with LIS, Love HSC, and am learning other Step routines. I shooting for 4 days pure Cardio and 2 days interval with weights. Cutting way back on my weights till I can fit in my jeans!!

What's up haters???? I"m just popping in quickly b/c I am so swamped at work I don't think I'll ever see the light of day.

My weekend was pretty good. Sat did no cardio. Gabe decided he wanted to make a trail at my parents so we spent an hour raking and moving huge dead trees. We're about 1/2 done. He quit on me and it was quite tiring since we were working going up the mountain. Yesterday I walked 7 miles. My in-laws took Gabe so I loaded up Gannon and headed over to the lake. I walked every trail imaginable. Some parts are so steep that my heartrate went up to 176. It was a great hike though. Today I"m just walking 3.5 miles at lunch. I want to do Cathe's April rotation for LB but of course keep with my walks too. Soccer starts tonight so I don't know if I"ll get anything accomplished. Won't get home til 7:00 and then I've got to give both boys baths, get my stuff ready for tomorrow, etc. So we shall see.

Michele - good luck with your rotation. Have you officially started it yet?

Charlotte - you go girl with your plyos!

Jana - have fun with LowMax. I like that one but can't seem to find the time to do the entire workout.

Diane - before you know it you'll be running the entire 30 minutes without any walking. Way to go!

Ellen - you just better get that cardio in tonight. Even if it is midnight, just do it! }(

Robin - Enjoy your workout!

Sorry if I've forgotten anybody, my brain is fried!

Have a great workout!

You know what I hate......
That darn step sweep, pivot turn on combo #2 on LowMax.
I don't think I can recall that many words come out of my mouth while trying to attempt that thing.

My 2cents for the day.

Anyone else feel my pain?

Well right now I just have the small cube size stepper so I don't sweep too well unless it is just on the floor. LOL! I am getting the regular size stepper this Thursday...thank goodness!

Hi everybody!

Toasty, I probably WILL need an oxygen tank on stand-by--LOL! I wish I could do plyometrics. I'm nervous to even try it because I've got a plate and 6 screws in my neck--UGH. Have fun with your new step!

Jana, good luck on your mission! We CAN do this, at least I THINK we can...yeah..we can....well, I hope we can, anyway...no, we absolutely can DO it. *SIGH* Oh, and just doing a basic step is enough to force a steady stream of expletives from my mouth.

Diane, I'm so jealous. I have an Ipod on my "things I want" list...it's #3707405--LOL! It sounds like you're coming right along with your walk/run...er...run/walk program. Did you figure out what made you cramp up? Did you maybe run to soon after eating? I don't know much about running or how it can affect you, Is there something on a runners website that talks about stomach cramps as a possible issue during training?

Robin, I have all 4 of the TLT w/o's and I've only done EFM once. I loved it but it was really tough for me. I've put those aside for now but I intend to do them later. I've got enough on my plate just trying to meet the commitment I've made to do cardio. Enjoy your w/o!

Ellen, I remember when I had a floor refinished in my old houe. What a nightmare! I know what you mean about the racket it makes. I think I had a headache for a week after they finished. What interval workouts are you doing? My jeans fit fine...that's the problem. I want them to be too big!

Dana, WOW! you walked 7 miles!? that's fantastic! It sounds like you had a good weekend. I feel tired just reading about your day.

I haven't done my cardio yet. I've been at my computer all day paying bills;( . Somethings been up with this $%^$% machine, too. I've had to shut down and reboot this computer several times today. I hate that! anyway, I now have errands to run and I'll get to my work out before the day is done...I swear;) .

Michele

Michele - I did a search and I think you are right. I ate basically right before I ran out the door. I just ate 1/3 of a big breakfast cookie and a 1/2 bottle of water before going out, and then eat the rest of my breakfast when I get back. I just don't know how to eat much sooner before that without waking up a lot earlier. It is hard enough for me to wake up for the run, much less the pre-run breakfast! Maybe I can just have something on the night stand to eat when the alarm first goes off, because we usually hit the snooze for about 20 minutes.

Diane, I think that's a good idea. Do you keep water at your bedside? I don't but my DH must have a glass of water on his nightstand and he probably sips from it 2 or 3 times during the night. Anyway, a good 8 or 10 ozs of water about 30 min before you run might be a good idea, too, so you're not going into your run dehydrated.

It's tough, isn't it? It would be really hard for me to get up any earlier than I do. I often do my work outs late in the day, especially on th edays when my husband gets home late. I just can't get it together to do an early AM w/o.

Michele

I usually have a bottle of water next to the bedside, but rarely ever drink from it in the morning, just at night before bed. I tried having a glass of water there before, but my kitten just ends up trying to drink it and spilling it everywhere :) I swear, she only likes water that is not in her water bowl. From sinks, bathtubs, she even tries to jump in the toilet, anywhere but her bowl. Weirdo.
