I Hate CArdio Check-In, 4/13

Hola Haters!!

Bear with me gang, this craziness that is my life will be over soon, I think. This day is out of control with appts and obligations so I'm really glad I did BS yesterday. There's no way I'd be able to fit it in today.
I will have to make time somewhere for upper body strength and a total body stretch, I just don't know where. I have an eye appt, then someone is coming over to see which trees need to be pruned, I have to run around and find (nice) Easter treats for my husband's staff, then dinner out with the fam damily. *SIGH*

I think I found us another hater! August--report front and center..NOW--lol!

Okay, I get it now---the Quiznos joke--duh! I told you I was slow--lol!

Michele~ girl so glad you got the joke, finally. hehehe! Sounds like you have a busy day. I have to get all that stuff done too we are having Easter here at our new house and we are still lacking a few things, like oh a table. We have to go and pick it up from BIL's house which is 50 miles from where we live. Must go get that soon or eveyrone will be eating on the couches and the floor.

How is everyone? I am a little short on time right now so I will be back later. Must go get the cardio in, bad knee pain today so not sure what I will be doing. May do LowMax, don't know about running today, may have to switch that until tomorrow. Bootcamp may need to wait one more week still need to get 2 more days of run/walk in and KPC, must have my KPC for the week. Almost cannot walk up the stairs knee hurts so bad =( no fun!

Your new name...lifting more weights then your DH!!!!!! My gosh!!!!

Anyhoo, I have weeks like that too. Yesterday I did the 13 mile bike ride with my son, but at the last minute. Yesterday was crazy with all the running around I had to do. Came home and did 1 set of bbm's w/weights while fish baked in the oven. Had to run into the kitchen a few times between sets to make sure the fish didn't burn. LOL! CRAZY!

Today only some cardio (Imax 2 blasts inbetween working body parts) I am going to try to increase my weights. Oh, but wait....I forgot I have to mow today too! You better believe I will get in some more cardio for that...pushing that mower all over the place. I have a tractor, but have to use push mower as well.

Marathonwoman,

What happened to your knee?? If your knee hurts that bad, I would definitely NOT do KPC, LowMax, BC or running. Best thing would be walking or bike riding. Take it easy, marathonwoman!!!!

I got more names for the rest of you!!!! Don't worry!!!!

Char-Char~ morning...yeah LowMax bad idea, but I made it through all 6 step cycles, just had to go down to only 1 riser under each. Tried 2 but not going to work today, not to mention I am totally out of energy. Taking the rest day tomorrow with Yoga only. Oh how I wish I could go for a bike ride. I have a awesome cake mountain bike, a great trail behind me, but no one to watch DD. It sucks. DH gets home kind of late so I never get it in. This weekend however I am making him watch DD and I am on the bike for sure. It has been too long since I have been able to ride. I am glad to see I am not the only one who mows the grass as well. We actually have lawn people, but I still do it every other week. I actually like mowing the grass, it's a good workout...yes I am nuts for saying that. As for the knee, well I have had only opinions no real answers. I was told by a top doc here I have a genetic problem where the knee cap turns out from the knee and it cannot be fixed. The 2nd opinion was it might be with the ACL but not sure. I need to go have it looked at again, but once again no one to watch DD while I am at doctor. MIL was the only one who would watch her but she is still suffering from panic attacks so I won't leave DD over there. I just take the pain in stride, I am a trooper!

I am however sooooo frustrated....the scale is once again staying the same no friggin change at all. I still need to loose 8 more lbs to be back to before baby weight, but no matter how much cardio and weights I do (6 days of cardio and 3-4 days of weights) it's not moving. I am happy to report however I can fit into most of my clothes still just a little tight around the hip area (I discovered hips while being preggo) and they don't seem to want to go away. I am killing myself and uhh it's not going anywhere...and yes I eat good. I am trying to find a way to cut out 400-500 more cal's per day. I don't know I am frustrated. I feel much stronger and can see more def in the legs and the arms but that dam scale...uhhh....frustrated. Have a child is hell on your body and I only gained 27lbs!

Anyway, my rant for the day...

Michele - Sounds like a busy day for you. Mine is busy too, hopefully I will be able to fit in a workout today.

Charlotte - A bike ride sounds so nice. I just need a bike and a place to ride it first :)

Jana - I sounds like you clothes are fitting well and you are getting definition, so you are making progress. Just don't cut calories too much, you don't want to make your metabolism slow down.

There was an interesting thread about this the other day, people all had differing opinions on how many calories is too low, etc. I personally think that the body will just naturally settle into its best weight with consistent exercise and a healthy diet, no reason to drastically cut calories and workout obsessively. I have been much skinnier than I am right now at several points in my life, but I had to watch every little thing that went into my mouth and exercise a lot more than I do now. That is just not where my body wants to be. I am not a fitness model or something, no reason to try and have the most perfect body. And plus I like to eat dessert or mexican food every once in a while. But I do want to look cute in a swimsuit! Anyway, everyone has different opinions, but I just feel that if you are doing everything right, then your body will eventually just go down to your best weight. Sometimes it just takes a little longer for your metabolism to catch up.

Anyway, enough about that. Today is super busy for me. I was supposed to wake up and do 1/2 of Low Max and then GS shoulders, but slept in again because I am still feeling like I am fighting off a cold. I will try and do it after work, but it looks like it may be another long night. Also looks like I may have to work all weekend, no holiday for me. Everything is just going crazy around here.

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh,....why on EARTH am I nervous to be writing here?!

Does writing here mean that I will feel psychological pressure to actually DO my cardio? I'm scared! I'm scared!!

I'm August and.......................I am a CARDIO HATER. }(

Let's see, as for myself, last week I finished up a one-month rotation of Legs & Glutes (actually, it's an old "August" rotation but writing that sounds ridiculous :+ ). This happens to be a busy week for me so I am taking it easy for stretching and cardio to just wind down and get ready for my Slow & Heavy }( rotation that starts on Monday.

Wait, did I say stretching and cardio? What I actually meant was just stretching. x(

But since there are only a few more days of stretch/cardio that I can blow off, err, accomplish before my weight-lifting/kickboxing rotation begins (I can only swallow kickboxing at this point), please allow me to join in the check-in later next week.

You know, it's actually amazing how taking off a few days makes one feel like a total blob.

Anyway, I hope you all will accept me as your newest HATE member. :)

Welcome to AA, oh wait I mean CA. Don't be nervous, we were informed you would be here soon. We are glad to have you and will be sending you the complete 12 steps handbook for CA soon..hehehe...I think I need to come up with one when I get some free time in like oh say the next 18 years.

Yes taking a few days off can really make you feel like a blob. I refuse to take more than 1 day off or else I am toast when I try to come back.

Kickboxing is great. One of my fav things to do. Are you doing KM or KPC (kickmax or kick, punch, crunch)? KM is great to start out with and then add in the blast challenge little by little..I need to do those soon..oh wait I have to take a day off..so not in the plans for this week...oh yeah that's right my knee hurts duh...sorry talking to myself there. I have a little ADD as you will notice.

Welcome August!

I must warn you that we have a tendency to get on your case if you skip your cardio! So be warned!

In all seriousness, this check-in has really helped me stay on track with my cardio and I have been trying to do it 6 days a week. I actually have been feeling much better since doing cardio more often, and it has helped me lose the last few pounds I had been holding onto for a while.

So now we want the scoop, tell us more about you.

Gawd, you guys are so good at doing your cardio. I always try to plan a circuit or cardio workout and wimp out at the end and end up doing just weights or pilates. I think I just hate breathing heavy...hehehe:eek:

Toasty, well, what can I say? You make my head spin--lol! I'm looking forward to going out on the bike trail this year.

Jana, whats up man? Did Toasty put you in charge of the discipline device or something. Don't stress over the scale. It's just a number. It didn't budge for me last week. I'm weighing myself on Fridays so tomorrow is the day for me. I think I'm going to take my measurements tomorrow too, and track my progress that way. I think it's more accurate. How's your MIL doing? I can't believe you're hosting Easter in your new home. Boy, you don't like pressure much, do you? lol!

Has Ellen checked in today? I think she's going away for a spa weekend. I'm pretty sure I saw her post somewhere today.

Dana, hows it going for you today? You are one busy lady. Really, I don't know how you working mothers manage to get it all in. My hat's off to you! How are your kids doing? How's soccer?

Diane, I feel exactly the same way you do about this check-in. I have never been this consistent with my cardio. And you gals are a blast! I'm really enjoying getting to know you all. It sounds like you're swamped at work. All I can say is, compared to you ladies, I have no freakin excuse for neglecting cardio!

My tree guy just left. Boy, he was very cute. A little young for me, but still fun to look at:p :p :p :p :p Oh...and he had some good ideas about my plants, too!:7

Okay, now I have to shower and get ready for dinner. We're meeting my MIL and FIL along with BIL, SIL, and nephew at a new restaurant. If I hurry, I might be able to get that upper body work done...or not. I may have to wait until I get home tonight.

Ok now as you all know I now live in the burbs which is such a BIG change for me, always living in the city for the past 12 years....ok with that said, I went to Target today with the DD and first off people do not know how to drive out here. If you are a bad driver then you live here, second why is it everyone freggin woman drives a big ol' SUV of some sorts. When I decided to retire last year to be at home with the DD my lease was up on my SUV (had the little Lexus SUV) so I decided I wanted to get something little, gets good gas, easy to maintain etc...so I got a volkswagon and living out here I think these women think my little car is like a bumper car or a clown car. I mean they almost freggin run me over all the time!!! I am like "hello if you can't see out of your big A** SUV get off the ROAD"!!! I am sooooooo over it...I want to get a tank just to run some of these women over!!!! UUUHHHHH...I called DH and said I needed a big red flashing light to put on top of the car so people see me. I HATE THE BURBS! I WANT MY OLD HOUSE BACK!!!
 
Just stopped in to say "I love cardio", but I don't do it. (okay I do it sometimes, but I love it when I do it??). Figure that one out.
