I Hate CArdio Check-In, 3/31

Miss Lee

Cathlete
Good morning to all in Cardiohateville!

Well, yesterday was shot to he!!. I slept the day away! I'm back and in fighting form...I think:D .

I didn't get my cardio in during the day yesterday so at about 10 PM I started lunging and I lunged for 30 to 35 min. straight. I did a combination of reverse and walking lunges and I think I'm going to be one sore puppy. I couldn't tell you how many I did except that I did them in sets of 20 with about a 30 second break in between so, it was a lot.

I definitely need to do something today. I weighed myself this morning and and happy that I didn't gain anything...I didn't lose anything either, but I'm okay with that. I ate french fries about 3 times this week and didn't do any cardio so I can't complain. I must be diligent the rest of the week so I don't get too far off track.

Ellen, I'm really sorry for everything you're going through. I can't imagine the stress you must be under. I'll keep you in my prayers and hopefully your house will sell pronto. I think keeping up with your cardio will be a good way for you to blow off steam.

Jana, WOW! You are some sort of super human something! I can't believe you unpacked all those boxes on moving day. I think it took me about 2 years to unpack--seriously! I'm in awe. You probably need a rest day. I know I would.

Diane, way to go on that full body w/o yesterday! I agree that it's good to mix it up a little bit. I think Cathe has the best strength w/o's, but sometimes I like a change. You can become complacent and really stall your progress. Oh, and an 18" platform would be killer!

Dana, I'm glad you got your walk in yesterday. How are you feeling? I hope your stomach is better today. What other symptoms do you have? Some of these intestinal viruses can really make you feel spent. You may need a rest day today and don't feel guilty for taking it!

Toasty girl, how do you plan to torture yourself today? Are you giving blood today? If so, you probably better take it easy for a day or two. I know youi HATE to hear that and I'm a little frightened that you might yell at me for not yelling at you to get your w/o in--LOL!

You gals have a good one today. I've got a hectic day planned and I'll probably need to check up on my MIL & FIL today, too. I'll try to check back later. Sorry if I missed anyone.

Michele:)

Michele,

I must have forgotten how much cardio is in Legs and Glutes as I did that after KPC. I was tired afterwards and went to church in heels later. Maybe that is why I am grumpy today? LOL!

Lunges you are doing? You know I personally think the walking lunges are easier then just static lunges, maybe that is why I can do more walking lunges. I have to be careful of my knees when I do those static lunges. Glad you had fun with them, you did have fun, didn't you? LOL!

Torture? Hmmmm....let's see. I am doing chest/back. No torture there as I am not doing any pushups, but just so you know, I have a new rotation I am doing next week and I do believe push ups are on there. Oh, my! Gonna run for 30 mins and do lowmax and then coremax 2. I better get going. I am going to be tidying up my strawberry patch and weeding out the driveway. So if I don't check in the rest of the day it is because I am working it!!!!!!

Charlotte~~

I didn't do any cardio yet...maybe later (no promises when I'm on funk week). I got up late today...bummer. I might just do some yoga stretches instead....we'll see what I'm up to later today after a grueling day at work:(

Robin

ETA: Glad to hear your bad in "fighting form" Michele!! Maybe I will be too soon.

Charlotte, I know what you mean about the static lunges. I have to do them really slowly or I'll break form. I like reverse lunges because I find my form is the best on those. From a cardio perspective, lunges get my HR up there!

I wish I had a strawberry patch! Why don't you come and plant a garden for me...oh...and take care of it too---lol! I love flowers and home grown veggies but I SUCK at gardening. I just dont have the knack for it at all. Have a great day Charlotte. I aspire to your energy level! LOL!

Michele:)

>Ok Robin, kick your butt into gear and get that cardio
>pumping!!;-)
>
>

Maybe....maybe not:p I can be in a funk if I want to...na na na na na.

Robin:p

Robin!!! It's so fun...and SHOCKING... to have you here. I never figured you for a cardio hatin chick. I guess we all have our days, don't we?

So, why the funk? Is everything okay with you? We're here if you need to blow off any steam. You're always such a bright spot and a big help to everyone else, if there's something I can do for you just give a holler.
In the meantime, here's a {{{{{BIG HUG}}}}}.

Enjoy your yoga ;)

Michele:)

Morning ladies! Let's finish this week off strong and all get in some cardio today, ya here????? }(

Michelle sounds like you had quite a workout with all the lunges. Sometimes I"ll do walking lunges around our yard when I take Gabe outside to play.

Charlotte, did you do L&G right after KPC or did you wait til later in the day? I'd die if I tried to do them back to back.

I'm feeling ok, still not the greatest. Gannon woke up at 11:00 last night throwing up and w/diarehia (sp)? He seemed ok this morning so I sent him to daycare. I feel guilty but I am so swamped at work and I only have 3 sick days left. He's been there 3 hours and I"m hoping he is ok the rest of the day.

I lost 4 lbs this week but that is probably from being sick. I measured myself last night and I lost: 1 inch from each thigh, 1 inch from my hips, 2.5 inches from my waist, 1/2 inch from my arms and am down 1% in bodyfat according to the calipers I used. Still have such a long way to go.

Have a great day ladies! :)

Congratulations, Dana!!! Those are excellent results. I wish I had measured myself but I didn't even think about it.

I hope Gannon is okay. My gosh, you've really had a lot on your plate, too. Hopefully there will be an upturn for you soon.

Oops, phone is wringing.

Michele

Buenos Dias ladies,

Uhhhh the pain. I think the body is finally realizing all the moving and unpacking and ouch I am starting to feel major pain in the knees. Oh well, life goes on. Today is a little treadmill, think I might walk and not run, not to sure about the knees just quite yet. Looks like it might be a nice day outside so if it's not too hot might take the DD out for a walk, have a great trail right behing the house and a killer jogging stroller.

Michele-30 mins of lunges....girl.....how do you do it. Lunges are the only thing I hate. Love squats, hate lunges. It's a balance thing with me. Lost my balance when I was preggo and still trying to get it back. muy bueno for you.

Diane- How's it going this morning? Seems like a nice day today, what's on tap for you and your workout today?

Dana- Sorry to here DS is not feeling good =(
I know it sucks you can't stay home with him, hopefully he just had a small bug and will be better today. Congrats on the loss! I have yet to step on the scale this week. I tried to "loose" it in the move, but darn I found it yesterday, oh yeah. I have had a horrible eating week and am scared to see what the scale is going to read. I hate eating bad, makes me cranky.

Anyone else I forgot, sorry. Hope you guys have a great day too.

Going to go and try to hang all the 10 zillion lbs of clothes I have and try to make this place organized, then off to the grocery store.
Will be trying the "eating for life" way next week. Anyone who has ever tried it please feel free to give me some feedback.

Sorry ladies, I had a meeting this morning and just now got to my computer.

Jana - I can't believe you finished uppacking. I moved into our house over 6 months ago and there are still a few random boxes to be unpacked.

Michele - 30 min of lunges, that is incredible. I would say that almost counts as a cardio!

Dana - Sorry you are feeling ill, but man, what good results! I should get sick more often!

Charlotte - Are you sure you don't like cardio? A run and Lox Max back to back! I could only to one or the other. Also, could you send my some strawberries please? I have been meaning to start a vegetable garden, but haven't really gotten around to it.

Robin - I hope you get out of your funk soon!

Today I am planning the usual 30 min run/walk after work. My goal is to make sure I am hydrating all day so that I don't have a bad running experience again today. I am already on my 4th glass of water for the day. Yesterday I got home when it was still a little light out (for the first time in a while) so I decided to plot a 3 mile course around our neighborhood so that I will be ready to start my 5K training once I am done with my run/walk training.

I have been kinda tired of my job for a little while now, it is just so much work with long hours and high stress. But it definitely pays the bills, and both my husband and I have a lot of student loan debt (I'm talking in the hundreds of thousands here). Well, this week we got a HUGE raise because the "market rate" for lawyers has been going up around the country. I'm talking a raise of more than 1/4 of our salary. Since both my husband and I are lawyers, we both got the raise. So I am so excited that our debt will be paid off that much faster (cut the time in 1/2) and we can move on with our lives (find better jobs, start having a family etc.). Anyway, just wanted to share. I had been feeling down because my best friend just had a baby last week and that seemed soooo far away for me because of all of these debt. But now "real life" and a family just got that much closer.

Diane-Oh how I feel your pain with the student loans. I have a full degree in Finance (which I don't even use, been in sales forever) and have decided I want to be a nurse so now I have piled on even more student loans. Oh how I love those things...not.

Happy Friday Cardio Haters!

Thanks for the good thoughts. I'm hanging in there.

Yesterday I attempted iMax 2 and after 15 minutes of staring at the TV going...HUH???... I changed over to Step Works and did 15 min of that. I need to learn iMax 2 in small doses. I'll keep working on it.

Right now, going for my favorite., High Step Circuit.

Spring is here and it's 75 degrees!! Such a gorgeous day!

 Replying to myself!!

:) Just finished my High Step Circuit.

I always feel good after this workout. Love the mix of cardio and weights.

Have another showing today at 3:30..must finish the cleaning!

Hi Ellen!

You are on the ball today! I'll keep my fingers crossed for your showing. I remember well how hard it is to keep your house in impeccable condition for showings. It sure gets old! Hang in there.

Michele:)

Just clarifying... that I said "I love the mix of Cardio and weights"...not to be confused with "I love Cardio"..which would get me kicked off this thread pronto!

It's a good thing yu clarified that because I was just preparing your dishonorable discharge--LOL!

Michele:)

Okay you guys, it's official! I have serious thigh and butt DOMS. And no, I have not done my cardio because my butt has been stuck in this chair in front of my computer most of the day, but I will do it later tonight. My DH probably won't make it home tonight. He's a featured speaker at an international meeting which goes on through tomorrow afternoon, so he took a change of clothes with him just in case the meeting runs late tonight. I feel so sorry for him. He's presenting a paper on his research but barely had time to work on it this past week, what with his mom in the CCU and all. He was feeling a little anxious when he left this morning. All this to say, I'll be by myself tonight and so working out late won't interfere with any spousal obligations ;) }(

Diane, congratulations on your raise! My gosh, that's pretty substantial! You are going to feel so good when you get those loans paid off. I think my DH and I celebrated the occasion with a fancy bottle of French champagne and ...
