Jenn,
Good for you on that run and I'm really proud of you for going past your goal distance. That is GREAT!!! Thanks for checking on me! I'm done. I just finished and I now understand where they came up with the expression "beet red". I did the Prevention "Walk Your Way Slim" with Michelle Dozois. They demonstrate 3 intensity levels and I can usually do the intermediate level. I was dying tonight. I don't know why but it was all I could do to finish. I kept going back and forth between the beginner and intermediate levels but at least I got through it. I think maybe I worked out too soon after dinner.
I'm like you in that weight lifting gives me a voracious appetite. I haven't been doing that either

;( . I was going to do a total body weight work out tonight but I think I need to reconsider at this point. Oh well, tomorrow is another day. I vowed that this would be the no guilt zone--LOL!
Diane, you are so funny! Hey, I hear you and I'm right there with you. Carbs get me every time. I don't really care that much about dessert, but man, I could eat bagels, potatoes, and pasta at every meal. I'm not familiar with a runners diet, but maybe you do need to up your carbs a little bit. Try going for carbs with more fiber and eat them with a little protein. Maybe that will stick with you a little better. Have you tried steel cut oats for breakfast? I eat oatmeal with chopped apple, walnuts, and cinnamon and that keeps me feeling full for several hours.
Reba, I'm so glad you checked in tonight. We'd love to add you to the population of Cardiohateville!
I'm sorry if I missed anyone. My brain is fried at the moment. Sleep tight and I'll see you in the morning.
Oh, one last thing. My new DVD still hasn't come:-( Maybe tomorrow?
Michele
