I Found My Perfect Shoe! Finally!!

So, without a long, boring story...I finally found the perfect shoe! I tried many, and many failed. Then, I bit the bullet and ordered the Ryka Rhythm II (the shoe that Cathe wears). I got them last week and ripped open the box, hoping that I wouldn't be disappointed yet again. Apprehensively, I slipped on first the right shoe, and then the left. Feeling an immediate cushioning in the soles, my spirits brightened as I tied the laces. I stood up, bouncing ever-so-gingerly from foot to foot, and then I knew! I knew I'd finally found them -- my perfect shoes! It was like I'd put clouds on my feet. The cushioning was superb, and the shoe had a bounce that made me want to move. And while I had a feeling the soles of my feet would still "burn" as they had with all the other shoes I'd tried, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was wrong in my thinking. After that first workout, there was no burn, no leg discomfort, no ankle discomfort...just pure shoe perfection! Aaaahhhhh!

I can see why Cathe wears these shoes.

That's terrific that you found your Ryka. They make you feel like an athletic Cinderella don't they! I love them! I have been sold on Ryka for about a year now. No more shin splints, sore ankles, aching balls of my feet....just pure bounce and springing feeling while wearing them. They are great!

Catwoman - I am so glad you found a shoe that works for you. I know how hard it can be and how expensive! I use to use Ryka's and loved them. Right now I am using the Nike Extreme Step show and love it!

Enjoy your new cool bouncy shoes!

Hey Catwoman! Oh boy are shoes important! Do you know if you can find these in stores?or do I have to order online, I would lreally like to try them on first.
Thanks,
Skye

Skye,

Hey girl!!

I was worried about the same thing as you are!! I went into a store and tried on a pair of Ryka's (Nobuddy around here carries the Rhytum II) and I used that size to order my shoes!

I ordered mine for about $73.00 with 2nd day shipping from: GREAT DEAL!!

Skye,

Thanks for all the information about the Yoga, it is greatly appreciated!! I am writing you an e-mail...thanks!!

:) ;-) :D :p :9 :7 :+

What workout did you do in these shoes? I have spent hundreds on crappy workout shoes. I find that my feet particularly hurt/burn/ache during the boot camp challenge of KM especially. My soles often burn, my arch(especially my right foot) aches and it takes the joy out of my workouts...so aggravating. My ankles really bothered me during HC Extreme #3 yesterday after the interval where we hop on and off the step while straddling(I LOVE this interval) then it goes right into half of the Boot Camp Challenge from KM. Boo. I'm glad you found a shoe that works for you!

I did the exact same thing. I tried my shoes on in the store to see my size...and then ran over to Ebay and got mine from a seller for $35 and $8.50 shipping! What a great deal! I'm on my 3rd pair from this seller. I get new shoes every 4-5 months. I teach a lot of classes...so it's very important for me to keep the spring in my step otherwise I start paying the price with an aching back and feet!

There is not a store in my area that carries Ryka shoes so I can't try them on to find the correct size.

Are you able to wear the same size in the Ryka or do they run a little small?

I have to get new shoes soon. I have never tried Ryka's but I hear a lot of great things about them. And if Cathe uses them (with all the jumping moves that she does) I think I need to try them. I have seen Ryka's at Lady Foot Locker stores, but they are a little bit pricey. I think I'm going to buy them online.

Howdy, ya'll. Sorry I haven't answered some of your questions...I haven't been online all day until now (it's just too gorgeous outside for me to be sitting on my computer, but the day is almost over and dinner was beckoning, so I thought I'd stop in while it cooks.

I answered the "what size?" question on another thread, but I'll answer it here, as well. I was told the Rhythm II runs about a half size small, so I bought an 8 1/2 vs. my normal size 8. The 8 1/2 works fine for me, but I think I could've gotten away just as easily with an 8.

What workout did I do? I did the Lowmax all step premix. It was just awesome. I've also done PLB and some upper body work, but those obviously don't impact the feet as much. I will admit that this morning I did Lowmax with my Rhythm II's and experienced some burn in my left foot. When I took off my shoes, I think I figured out why: the laces were too tight on my left shoe; otherwise, the workout felt great!

I had tried the Ryka Affirm at Lady Foot Locker before ordering the Rhythm II, and I really just did not like that shoe. The Affirm was supposed to be a great aerobic shoe, too, but in my opinion, there is just no comparison between it and the Rhythm II, in neither the size nor the feel and functionality.

Good for you! I am a huge Ryka fan...I have aerobic shoes, cross trainers and running shoes! Ryka's have been very good to me!! :)
