I found my perfect leg workout...Leaner Legs

Tamster

Cathlete
Somehow, I thought that I had done it before, but it was my planned workout for today and it was all new and just awesome. Non-stop action and my legs are feeling it allready!

I combined leaner legs with the leg conditioning drills from KickMax and I know I have found a winning combination for me. This will be my standard Sunday lower body workout combination.

Just had to post, as I am feeling some awesome DOMS, and as Martha would say "it's a good thing"!

I have been thinking of purchasing this dvd. Can you tell me what exercise she does in it? I want more variety then squats and lunges even though I like them. Thanks :)

Terri

She does lots of lunges & squats but ALOT of low-ends. At one point she tells you to stay at the low end "until further notice." By that time you are really 'cussing. She also does the lunges with the back foot elevated on the step. Ouch!

This workout has rightfully earned the nickname Meaner Legs.

Oh Thanks Marla! I love/hate low ends..hehe. They really make me feel like I worked out. I guess I will be adding this to my collection!

LL is a great work out! It's not long but it really gets the job done! You can't help but LOVE it AND HATE it at the same time! lol Hmmmm...I haven't done it in a while...I really need to pop it in my dvd player one day soon! :)

If you look under DVDs, you can see a description of the workouts. It's 33 minutes with a 9 minute ab workout. This is a good, solid leg workout.

Hi Kim,

Is the $89 worth it for just LL or for all the other work outs that come with it too?

I'm trying to decide what to get next.

Thanks, Dallas

edited to say: Asking the same thing as Kim. I thought she was stating LL is worth the $89 alone. Sorry, it must be the cold medicine I'm on!:-(

YES Dallas LL is worth it!!:D Do a search on CTX series and you will find out WONDERFUL things about it!! I think it is a masterpiece!!

Take care,
~Nicole

I have thrown this one back into my rotation recently and I am seeing great results again. More quad and inner thigh definition is what I am seeing, without bulk. I have also cleaned up my diet, so I am sure that is helping. I combine LL with L&G and ME for my weight work during the week.

I will try to remember the exercises and weights that she uses. This isn't exact, but it will give you an idea.

Squat sequence - 35 lb barbell

Quarter Deadlifts (you do about 4 sets throughout the workout, gives the quads a break for active recovery - 35 lb

Calf Raises on the step - always does these after the deadlifts for active recovery

Leg Presses - Cathe uses 2-10 lb dumbells for the 1st set and then drops to 2-8lb dumbells for 2 more sets! That 3rd set is tough.

Single Leg Presses (back foot on step with 3 risers) - 2-8lb dumbbells for 2 sets

Sit and Stands - 35 lb barbell

Static Lunges - 35 lb barbell

Plie Squats - 35 lb barbell

This workout may be short, but it is TOUGH and moves very quickly.

Personally I think the entire CTX series is worth the $89; it's a fantastic series. However, if someone only wanted LL, I believe it's available by itself on VHS.

Sandra

Thanks Nicole P and Sandra. I did see that it was on VHS, but my work out room has a DVD player, but it sounds like the whole series is worth it.

I bought CTX some time ago, and then it just sat on the shelf. I started incorporating it into my routine about six weeks ago, and it is fast becoming my most used DVD.

Besides LL, the upper body split and the all ab routines are priceless. I mainly use the first DVD for my short cardio days.

Since I am currently not using heavy weights on my LB because of bulking, I found LL a refreshing change to the floorwork I had been doing. The pace is VERY fast, and I just went light on the weights.

Tammy

Another vote for CTX. You can't go wrong with this one. Versatile for sure! Hope I don't wear it out!

Jeanette

Thank you everyone for your input. Even though I just ordered PUB/PLB, CK/CM and KPC I think I'm going to get CTX based on your recommendations and the previews. Besides, KPC is on backorder until ???!!! and I need another "fix"!
