I find the "King" disturbing - is it just me?

...I'm not talking about Elvis here. The king I'm referring to is that plastic faced Burger King "king" in their latest batch of commercials.

I don't know why, but DH and I both find him to be rather creepy and disturbing...like...what exactly is IN those breakfast sandwiches that you're handing out? Is it just me? :+

It's not just you. I think the plastic King head is creepy too. However, my children (3 boys), think he is hilarious.

OMG, my DH and I said the same thing last night!!! What weird commercials and that Burger King guy just freaks me out!!! I get the creeps every time I see the commercials!

ha! :7 i made this exact same comment to some of my friends at lunch the other day... if that creepy thing decided to sneak up on me in my window, i'd knock the crap out of him! i truly don't know what their marketing department is thinking. i thought it was me, but he totally freaks me out.

It's not just you, Gayle. The first time I ever saw him I couldn't move. He reminded me of those badly painted statues of saints paraded in fiestas back home. The ones that relatives, after telling me what a bad girl I've been, threatened my unworthy, immortal soul with.

I'd change the channel whenever the commercial came on. My son is very curious about and quite enamored of him, and would ask to watch, at which point I'd have to leave the room.

Yes! Creepy and strange. Like a stalker.
Either Saturday Night Live or Mad TV (I think it was the latter), did a parody of the commercial in which the guy wakes up in bed and "the King" is in bed with him (the creepiest of the ones I've seen so far!). You can imagine their take on it!

The newest one with him suddenly appearing outside the window of the guy's house is creepy as well. That mask looks like what someone who'd be in a horror flick would wear(like the masked killer in the Scream trilogy, or Jason and his hockey mask, or the creepy masks that the serial "make you kill each other" killer uses in "Saw").

Oh yeah, I think he's very creepy. Almost as bad as that Duracell family they had a few years back. I also don't like Ronald McDonald. I'm scared of clowns!

I could not agree more.

The other series of commercials that just grosses me out is anything Quiznos puts out. The man nursing on the wolf and the talking baby who acts like a smarmy man. These seriously make me angry.

Another vote for totally creeped out. I think it's related to the clown thing. Yuck! Very scary.

I have no problem with the plastic burger king, I did have a problem with the last burger king commericals with the ladies dressed up like daisy duke or daisy maye in the skimpy clothes on swings... and the guy playing the guitar......
I was trying to figure out what they were selling at the time, hamburgers or sex.....

I am with you here, if he appeared at my window, I would scream and freak out!! I really don't know what Burger King was thinking coming up with this commercial. And the bed one, oh MY!! I would totally freak if I woke up to that face in my bed!!!

As for the sexy commercial, it wasn't any better, selling hamburgers with sex, what next(oh no don't say that because now we have plastic king man)UGH!!!

What are commercials coming to?!?!

I totally agree. Especially when he's standing outside the window peeking in. I don't think I'd be taking food from some creepy plastic person staring in my window.

OMG! It's not just you. The first time I saw one of those King commercials I said to DH - "that thing is CREEPY!" And he agreed. x(

I really dislike those Quiznos commercials too.

You gotta wonder what the advertising agencies are thinking, but hey they have us talking about them! Don't they?

He really irritates me for some reason. They seem to think its funny or fun to hand out fat infested food with absolutely no nutritional value. It actually makes me sick to my stomache. I know that people have a right to eat whatever they want - - - but seriously - - - advertising can twist things in a way that even educated people don't know it will seriously clog an artery. It disgusts me!

Our healthcare cost in on the ridiculous rise, yet Americans don't get upset enought to tell the Fast Food industry to knock it off and quit making foods full of crap and directly advertising to our kids! It disgusts me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sadly we cannot expect people to make the right choices all the time.........but why make it so hard to make the good ones??
