I feel spoiled by Cathe

Hi! I'm new to this forum but not new to working out with dvds or Cathe. I've been lurking here for awhile:eek:. Anyway, I just wanted to say how lucky I feel that Cathe is out there making these awesome workouts. I do like other instructors as well, but lately (especially the last 4 months or so) I find myself reaching for one of her workouts at least 90% of the time. I have several others on the shelf I truly like...I have some Paul Katami, Jillian, Bob, Michelle Dozois, some pilates and yoga as well as several others, but every time I go to actually work out lately (unless I feel like doing kettlebells) I end up popping in a Cathe! Now I just started STS! Great stuff!:)

Nothing beats STS, nothing. Cathe supersedes them all.

I agree...this is why I think Cathe could never do an STS2...how to improve perfection???

Cathe is the BEST, no doubt. I have tried others in the past, I always come back to Cathe. And no offense (not to disrespect people's opinions). I just don't understand the love for Jillian Michaels...I think she is a complete fraud, no offense. She is unprofessional on her DVDs. Her language is totally inappropriate. There is no way I would ever play them in front of my children. She doesn't even do the workouts and I am sure she is not the creative mind behind them. She's pretty conceited too. So, besides the fact that Cathe's workouts are solid in every matter. She is professional, her DVDs are top notch, she is the creative mind behind her workouts, and the bonus is I can play them in front of my children and know that she is a good role model for them. If you ever get a chance to meet her, she is no different than the person you see on the DVDs, actually I find her to be more endearing. I respect Cathe, she puts in so much time and dedication to what she loves. She is accessible to all of her fans too, how many famous trainers get back to you with advise? Check out fb or the forums, she will even create a rotation for you if you ask.

Sorry for picking on Jillian...I have tried some of her stuff and it's not that bad, I just find that I never ever reach for them, and I get mad at myself for ever purchasing them!!!!! She's just not for me.

A true trainer/instructor for me is someone who can push you, but also motivate....Cathe manages to make me smile all the time, even when she is asking me to do the hardest move possible. Part of it is becasue I am watching her do it with ease, and if she can cue and do 32 plie jacks at the same time, then I have no excuses!! She makes hard fun!!! No dread!!

I've never been able to adapt to Jillian's style. I'm sure there are people that need (or think they need) that tough brow beating to get in shape, but I would much rather have someone that helps to lift my spirit and reminds me that the stregth comes from within myself... that my heart and mind need to be nurtured just as much as my body and muscle.

I did an STS workout this morning and as my muscles hit failure and I grimaced and fought for those last reps I found comfort in the fact that Cathe was struggling right along with me- spotting her concentration curls, gritting her teeth and sweating. This is my 4th round of STS and it never ceases to amaze me how much work she put into every minute!

I don't know if any of you that were at the 2010 glassboro RT will remember this moment but: On bootcamp day Cathe walked into class in her Cargo pants looking fierce and started setting up obstacles, running around, pushing us to work harder every second. My favorite moment was when she gave us an order in her toughest bootcamp voice and then swung back to her sweet Cathe self and ended the order with "please" :) That woman just melts my heart!

The world would be a really boring place if we all shared the same opinions. No offense taken! I respect that you honestly shared your thoughts. I like Jillian, but I know more people who do NOT like her. She either clicks with you or not. No contest, Cathe is far superior like you said. Since I found Cathe 7 months ago, I reach for her workouts 99% of the time. I like to change it up, but Cathe has this hold on me; I always go back ;). She is pure class. That we can all agree on.
