:D:D:D I have been studying for my NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist and it has been overwhelming. I chose that because I have some nagging injuries that no one seems to be able to help me fix so I wanted to see if I could fix them myself. The information is extremely interesting and has been really helpful in helping me correct those problems. BUT it is so hard. In addition to a lot of other information you have to know the actions of the muscles concentrically, statically, and eccentrically as well as understand the muscle attachment sites. Ugh. I have been so stressed out and overwhelmed learning all of this information. DH says he can practically see the monkeys on my back.

Well, I just took the test and passed. I am so relieved I could cry. I am doing the happy dance around my house.

CONGRATS!!!!!! that is so awesome! how long did it take you to study all the material? i know when i was a PT, i would see my colleagues with the NASM book and that was a hefty piece of reading material.

Well congrats to you Shayne! I know you've been struggling w/some injuries, good for you for taking things into your own hands. Good luck & keep us posted.

Fantastic news, Shayne! That IS a tough exam! A&P and Exercise Phys were tough enough for me! What a great accomplishment!

Congrats!!!

Shayne,

You ROCK!! That is AWESOME!! I took my ACE personal trainer exam last December and before that ordered the ACSM personal trainer study materials--it is HARD, way harder than ACE, so I'm sure NASM is similar to ACSM. I plan to take my ACSM exam next year. It is a huge time investment and you deserve a huge celebration!! :D
