Hey everybody:

I DID IT!!! I finished the Bjorklund 1/2 marathon this weekend in Duluth, Minnesota. I finished in 2:24:00. I never stopped, only to grab some water/Gatorade and down that and head on down the street again. I've never had a better run! It was absolutely wonderful!!!! There were over 5,000 people running in my race and 11,666 total between the 1/2 and full marathons. WOW! I couldn't believe the people. I kept looking behind me thinking that one of the times there wouldn't be anybody back there and I'd be last. :)

It was an absolutely wonderful day low 70's, light breeze and not a cloud in the sky - beautiful!!!! Now, I can't wait for the next one. :)

I just had to tell you all that I finally did it and it feels great, I'm not sore or anything.

Have a great week everybody, I think I'll be flying high on this one for quite a while.

Marcia :D

Congratulations, Marcia! That was part of Grandma's Marathon, wasn't it?

I don't think I could spell "13.1 miles", let alone run it.

You rock, Ms. Runner!

Big congratulations to YOU!! :7 :7 You have certainly earned all the bragging rights you can muster up! :)

I am so inspired by you! I can't wait to run my first half marathon. I'm working on my training now!

Thanks for sharing with us!

I am so jealous. That is one of my goals...to run a 13.1 race. I will do it some day. I can totally relate to the high you feel. I ran a 10K last year in 55 minutes and I was so stoked for about a week. I felt great the entire race as well and I kept up step for step with my husband....I was really cruizin'. Congratulations on your accomplishment....it is totally awesome.

That is so great! I"m so proud of you! I ran my 1st 10K earlier in June (in Paynesville, MN). I had just found out I was pregnant & had been super nauseus. The race was 10X harder than I thought it'd be & I did almost end up in last!!! I'm too embarrassed to even post my time. I had began training in April. The course was SUPER hilly & I had to be careful not to get my HR up too high with the baby.

My goal for next year was going to be a 1/2 marathon. I think I best focus on the 10K again. My running season is over this summer (it hasn't settled well with the pregnancy).

Again, I'm super proud of you (and a little envious too).

Congratulations. It's a great feeling to cross the finish line. As someone who is addicted to running and racing, I can tell you there is no time like the first, but you will go on wanting that same high over and over again.

BTW, great time for your first one. Congrats again:D
