I couldn't finish Legs in STS!

O my! First week and disk 3, legs. I don't know what happened? In the middle of it I got so jittery I had to quit. My DH and I will finish it tomorrow, but man, I was so freaking tired. I'm so upset with myself for not finishing.

My hubby is 13 years older than me and he was doing great. I slept well last night, ate my breakfast and two hours later tried the STS. WOW. I'm even modifying.

Well there is tomorrow to finish and then a rest day after that.

Janie - I would not do legs AGAIN tomorrow. Give it a couple of days. I bet the next time you do it you will do better.

I fully expect that I will not make it all the way through the leg workout the first time - or will have to pause to catch my breath - endurance-type weight training is my weakness. I usually am a GO HEAVY AND GET OUT girl.

I am a little scared to start - am waiting for the 16th to start with Cathe (and finish my 1RM)

I just did it!!

I just did disk 3 legs and did finish and i also did the optional legs at the end...i LOVED it!!....while I didn't find it as tough as Butts and Gutts I did like it...now I'm just not sure if i want to repeat week 1 again next week or move on to week 2.
 
You're not alone

It's not just you. I found it very challenging too. I'm sort of an all or none kind of person when it comes to fitness, and for the last few months I was in the "none" category.

This week I started with the "all". My legs and heart are getting used to it all again. I had to stop the DVD several times to catch my breath (also to adjust equipment), and I modified a few things (such as the ball wall squats in which you put the dumbbells down and pick them up again. I could not do that without going so low that I could not get up again!).

But I'm not worry about it. This is only the first week, and I intend to only get stronger and have more endurance as this goes. You will too! ;)
 
Legs is SO HARD! I did it on Thursday and then stupidly, did spinning yesterday, thinking it would help stretch out my aching hamstrings...didn't really help ;-) and then I went again today. What can I say, I am a glutton for punishment :)

I think you will get better.
I will start my full rotation on Tues. but have done disk 1 and 3. This probably sounds stupid but I was nervous before both times...Weird huh. I guess the year of anticipation was really weighing on me and I was afraid I would not make it. And now I am afraid I am not pushing hard enough. Go figure huh. Us fitness freaks, never happy.:D

Don't beat yourself up! There's better days ahead! Sometimes we all just have off days. I know when I did KPC the other day, I just couldn't get my "kickin'" in like I usually can and I felt the same way...I was standing in front of the TV going "what's wrong with me?" That just happens sometimes!

Hi Janie!
Don't feel bad... Disc 3 is HARD!!! I had trouble with it during the ball squats I could not get the weights to the floor and I kept losing my balance during the touchdowns.

Don't feel bad...

Disc # 3 is tough. I made it through the entire workout and bonus, but made a note in my log that my form on the side lifts with bent leg was "pathetic". Cathe was balancing a paper plate on her thigh, and I was lucky to get through the reps at a 30 degree angle. That's OK, there is room for improvement!

We all work from different places, and just try to keep going.
 
Uhh oh

I got my STS on Thursday---YEAHHHH(so happy!!!!) and just got done with disk 2. I loved em but after looking through disk 3 I'M SCARED of doing LEGS!!! lol
 
I did Legs yesterday also and I couldn't finish them either (head bowed in shame). So many of the exercises were different than I'm used to and require a good deal of balance/stabilization.... just beat me up <g>. I'm sure I got a good workout even though I didnt' quite make it all the way through. I'm glad I'm doing two weeks of Mesocycle 1. I get another shot at it next Friday.

I read somewhere it was B&G on crack:eek::eek:LOL!

What I would like to know. Why did Cathe add Drill Max the day after legs?!!!!
OMG, I felt like a lead tank trying to do those jumps with sore legs yesterday!!!
 
Hi everyone,

Yes, it was a 24 hour bug and feeling much better today. I've done my cardio for the day, now a rest day tomorrow and then will get on to STS again. Second week coming up. YEAH!

I agree about modifying. Have to, there is no other way for me.
