I Can't Eat Sweets Anymore - Ugh!

Since I have started eating organic food and at least two vegetarian meals a day I have noticed that I can't eat sweets anymore. My blood sugar drops so low I can't hardly hold my head up. Is this good or bad?

If it makes the desserts less tempting it's a blessing in disguise for sure.
I wish I couldn't eat cheese sometimes.....

If it's the pleasure of the experience you're missing, there must be an alternative recipe of what you are craving. No one expects you to eat perfectly all the time. Perhaps you could make a healthier version of it, and your body will be able to handle it better. Is there something in particular you wanted to have?

I'm not sure how to make decadent chocolate desserts (brownies, cake, etc) that won't make my blood sugar plummet.

hope this helps

Try substituting coconut oil for butter or other oils. It helps by giving you longer lasting fats in the blood stream. It works great in muffins and brownies. Also, you can increase the coco powder in brownies by reducing the same amount of flour. For example, if I added 1 tbsp. of coco (in addition to the normal required amount) I would reduce the amount of flour by 1 tbsp.

You can add either almond meal or coconut flour (not complete substitution.) where it calls for flour. I would experiment with that because coconut flour will soak up a lot of fluid. The advantage there is both of them, almond and coconut, have a higher protein content. Many people use those for gluten free recipes. Sometimes you can reduce the sugar content (it depends on the recipe). Have you tried eating a meal with healthy fats first and then having a small treat? The fats should sustain you. Fish high in omega 3s really helps with that. It doesn't have to be a big serving. A small serving ought to do the trick.

You can try take some gymnema sylvestre to bind with some of the sugars.

Or my favorite tip is to only have your treat right after a hard intense workout because thats when you are at your highest need for carbohydrate. (glycogen replacement)

Are you sure your sugar is low? It might be high, both can cause these kinds of reactions. Have you ever tested your blood sugar after that kind of food? High blood sugar can also cause light headedness/faintness/feeling ill.
