They are the cutest little things! I love it!! I am suppose to get my arm band today. I would love to get out for a run later and try it out. I have put pictures on mine from the Cathe road trip(they are in color too). Inspiration!

Has anyone else bought one yet? :)

I read that you have the bigger one too. I have that one, but it IS too big to go running with. It does pull on the shorts! Yikes! When I run on the treadmill, I have something I can put it into, so there's no problem there.

So, how much was that Nano one? How many songs does it hold? I like that it can be strapped to your arm.

Enjoy your run!

Oooooo! You are so lucky! Those are soooo cute! I have an iPod Mini, and it's pretty new, so I'm not planning on buying a Nano anytime soon. Although, if my iPod Mini were to "accidentally" get broken, I guess I'd have to replace it with a new iPod, and then I'd get a Nano.... }(

Dallas-I got the one that holds 500 songs. There is another one that holds 1000. I think maybe I should have gotten the one that holds 1000 songs. I have this one almost filled up! LOL! It comes in white or black. The 500 or 2gb one is $199 and the 4gb one is $249. From what I understood at the store where I got mine they cannot keep them in stock. It is so cool though because it has the screen so you can see the songs. I looked at the shuffle one too but the Nano had the screen and that was what I liked.

The shorts have to stay up! LOL! I think I almost showed more than I wanted to the other night when I had the larger one hooked to my shorts. I ended up just making it a power walk instead. ;-)

Oh, Oh, Oh! I NEED one too! I have the original iPod and its just too big to run with. I am going to get the nano really soon. I will keep the big one at home set up with speakers as my stereo system. I heard on the news though that the screen on the nano is a bit senstive or squishy and you need to be really careful with it, is this the case? I hope not. I also heard that because of it they are willing ot replace any damage to them, thankfully.
I almost bought the shuffle but I was annoyed I wouldn't be able to see what song was next so I waited....thank god!
Have fun with your Nano :7

I am thinking of purchasing an IPOD. Questions:

Can you hook the IPOD up to speakers, ie, desk speakers at work?

How large is your memory, 20mg, 60mg?

Is it easy to download any music?

I am a novice and my sister swears by this thing when she is running on the treadmill.

Thanks for any input.

Also, which site will I get a good deal?

Linda

Linda, which kind of iPod do you want? Regular iPod, iPod Mini, iPod Shuffle, iPod Nano??? There is a huge range of capacity and features depending on which model you buy. What are your needs? (How many songs do you want it to hold, and what features are you looking for?)

They can all be hooked up to speakers. And it is easy to download music to all of them - just use the free iTunes software. Couldn't be easier, really. :)

As for where to buy one... well, it's hard to find a discount on Apple products, unless you buy from eBay. DH and I have bought our iPods from Best Buy and direct from Apple - you pay the same either way. At least with those two places, they have good return policies. A lot of online electronics stores won't let you return things without paying an enormous restocking fee.

Great article, Shelley! :) And yes, it's always a good idea to buy a protective case for your iPods as the screens on ALL of them can be easily scratched. That article does a good job of explaining the difference between strength and hardness - there's usually a tradeoff between the two. It's the perpetual engineering dilemma... (I speak from experience) ;)

You are so lucky! DH just bought me an iPod mini for our anniversary and I love it. He wanted to get the Nano but they had just announced it and the store didn't even have them in stock yet.

I love mine and use it for jogging. Don't have an armband yet so I just hold it.

Sabrina: I'm glad you won't have problems with your screen!

Shelley: thanks for that article

Linda: I am an Apple user for all my computer needs so whenever I am making a new purchase, which I mostly get from other sources other than Apple for better pricing, I first go to an Apple store and check it out to see what I am ordering online. You may want to try that. See if there is a store near you. Go to http://www.apple.com/buy/ to see where there is a store near you. Or go to any Authorized Apple retailer. They'll have all your answers.

Sites/catalogs I usually order from:
Mac Mall
Mac Connection
Mac warehouse (CDW)

A lot of times you can save a couple bucks and you'll get a free something or other with a big purchase. Such as mini speakers or something like that.

Enjoy it Sabrina! I have the pink mini and I use an armband for running. It's my 3rd ipod, so I'm sure a Nano is in my future!

Tammy

It figures they'd come out with the Nano since I just got my mini. But, I love it! Tammy, mine is pink too and has my name engraved on it! :7 I took it off my waist once while jogging and when I put it back on, I didn't hook it good and it fell to the ground and has a few teeny chunks out of it! Waaaah! Still works fine though. I also heard something about the Nanos yesterday about them replacing them for a reason but didn't catch the reason?? Maybe the "squishy" screen like is mentioned here. Have fun with your toys everyone!

I will most likely be getting both my kids a Nano for Christmas. It would be great if Santa would buy one for ME, too! ;-)

Angie

Hey, Dani, how do you like the Shuffle? I will be getting one for free from a friend who received it with his laptop purchase :D :D. I'm so lucky. I had wanted a Nano, but I'm more than satisfied with FREE. Do I need to buy anything to be able to hook it onto my clothes or arm for working out? And is it user friendly?

Ok, sorry, one more question.... where do you get your music?

TIA!
