I finally broke past that 110-111lb plateau I was at and am now 109 ....just wanted to share lol ...:7 :7 ...God bless Rhonda :7

Congratulations Rhonda!! Could you tell me how long it took you to break the plateau you were at? I am getting extremely
discouraged about my situation and could use some encouragement. I have only lost 3 pounds in 6 weeks!!

Congratulations again,
Teresa

Amanda, I think you could be right, I needed something to shake it up a bit, and I really like that medicine ball for the abs, I haven't gotten to use my stability ball yet, but I did modify like they showed in the video. However it happened I am thrilled :7 ... Rhonda

Teresa, seems like I have been at this plateau for about 2 1/2 months, starting about the first of August. I did however buy some of cathe's exercise videos from Amanda (thanks so much Amanda, I love them ) ... and I think they really helped. I do exercise anywhere between 1 1/2 hrs a day and 2 1/2 hrs a day depends on how I feel. Yesterday was an hr and a half, but Tues was 2 hrs, I usually do one hr in the morning and 1 hr at night. Plus I try to clean eat as much as possible, lots of water and no sugary drinks except my protein power of course. By the way the videos I have been using this past week mostly have been PLB, ME, MIS, Terminator(minus the step workout). So this is what I have been doing, but I don't do the same thing every week, probably should but I don't.
You just keep on keepin on Teresa, you will get there, you may need to up your exercise time, depending on what you already do that is. God bless ya :7 .... Rhonda

Thanks for the words of encouragement Rhonda. I won't bore you with my exact situation except to say I have been working out roughly 8 hours per week, eating as clean as I can, and as I always do anyway, drinking plenty of water. I am determined, so I won't give up. It's just a bit discouraging.

Have a nice day,
Teresa

Teresa, please don't think that you could bore me with your situation, its important to you. The reason I work out so hard is to get to my goal :7 ... when I get there I will slow down some lol. Be of good cheer, you will get to your goal :7 ..... God bless ya Rhonda :7 :7 :7 :7

I hate to be a party pooper, and I don't know your stats, but I'm a bit concerned about this post. 109# is a very low weight unless you're around 5 feet or under. Maybe the reason why you had a hard time breaking that plateau is that your body was trying to tell you that you were already at a healthy weight. The fact that you seem to have had to go to extremes (I consider working out 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours on a daily basis a bit extreme) also leads me to think that.

Please take care of yourself and make sure that this is a healthy weight for you, and not an unrealistically low weight.

I also was wondering what your height is also, because I am 5'6 and weigh 120 lbs and I look too scrawny on my upper part of my body I must admit. After looking at your post I felt like I need to lose some pounds.

I was also wondering the same thing. I'm only 5', weigh 123 pounds, and wear a size 4/6 jeans. For a long time I weighed 115 and thought I looked great. At 5' my long term goal is 110, but I would be happy with 115 again.

You don't have to be concerned about my weight, I am eating, and I am just fine. I have been at 100 lbs before kids. I am 5'2" ... I will stop when I get where I want. thanks for caring God bless Rhonda :7

A big congratulations from me to you Rhonda.
Sometimes it is hard to find out the combination it takes to shake things ups a bit when you want to lose those last few pounds.

On the weight and height thing, I don't think the charts have enough allowance on bone structure. Two people of the same height and weight, one could look just right, the other is too big because of their build, even though they are in the same catagory on the chart.
For example I am very tiny boned. To weigh what the charts say I should weigh, I look like a dumpling. So I don't go by the charts, I go by what weight I feel the best at.
And, when I put on the weight,(not by choice) my apple figure puts it where it knows to put it the best....waist and abba dabbas.
Knowing oneself is the key. To me, Charts are helpful to see if one is anorexic or the other extreme. Balance Balance Balance and not obsession.

Now you can celebrate and buy a new video, DVD, new outfit, shoes, facial, hairdo, jewelry, lipstick, ...... :p :p :p

Thanks SO much ya'll. I did buy a few new clothes lol, a pair of pants, a shirt and a pair of velveteen overalls, it was nice to buy size 8 overalls this time and not 12's lol. Last yr when I bought those overalls I had to order a 12 cause my hips were 42 inches, now they are 35 :7 .... Thanks SO much for the encouragement it helps. Everyone here is so supportive thats why I come here, I love to read the posts :7 . It is so wonderful to have a place to go on the internet where people actually like to exercise because of health and what it does for their bodies. I love being back to or almost back to pre-baby weight :7 .... Rhonda :7 :7

ps. it would be nice if all stores would size things the same, instead of buying a pair of pants from 1 place a size 8, from another a size 6, go figure lol.

I am soo confused with how our bodies work. hehe I am a size 6 and I am 5.2 and 140 lbs. How can you be some much skinner then me and be the same size. How strange. I would think you were like a zero or 2 or something. I want to get down to 135 because last time I was there I was in a size 4. I just bought a bunch of new clothes too. I blame Cathe. hehe because everything looks good so I HAVE to get it. hehe it is hard on my pocket book but don't those days feel so good when everything you try on fits and looks good. They do not come around enough:) Probably a good thing or I would be broke. hehe Have a wonderful day Amanda

Amanda,

I just said the same thing in a post last week. I'm 5'4" and 125, and I'm a size 8. I guess a big part of it is bone structure. I have a small frame, except that my hips are wide, from my bones, not because I have so much padding. Even when I was in high school and college, years ago, and weighed 104 I was only a 6. Actually, my abs help some now too. They're tight, but they stick out some. I think they always did, to some extent, but two c-sections didn't help. I also know someone who is probably 5'3" and weighs around 150, and she's an 8 too. Go figure.

I am very petite, my wrist measure just 2 marks under 5 1/2 inches on a tape measure, my ankles 7 1/2 inches. I have always been small, except of course when I started having kids, I never exercised so the weight I gained didn't go away, well some of it did, but most of it stayed. So now I am having fun getting it off. Its nice to know it does come off lol. I have small everything lol, wished that wasn't so where the bust is concerned but it is. Oh well ... Rhonda

I find it confusing and frustrating, too. I'm 5 foot 4, weigh 110, ectomorph with very small bone structure, but nice muscletone, thanks to Cathe. I constantly have people who I perceive to be close to my size make ugly comments about how "skinny" (hate that word!) I am and how I need to start eating.

I usually wear anywhere from a size four to a size six or seven. I know by today's standards, this is considered small, but I can't count the number of times I've had someone say, "Wow! What size do you wear? A zero?"

Making unsolicited observations about a person's size should be considered rude, regardless of whether they're large or small. I'm getting off the subject a little, but as you can tell, this is a sore spot with me.

Angela

Angela,

I've never been asked if I wear a zero, but I have been asked if I wear a four. Actually, I can wear fours and sixes in some dresses and skirts. When I say I'm an eight, it's in pants, which is what concerns me. I have, however, also been told I'm too skinny. I went to get my hair cut Friday night, and mentioned to my stylist, who has been cutting my hair for almost 10 years, that I had been sick with bronchitis. She told me it was because I'm too skinny, and need to put some weight on my bones. I've had two comments that were really bad, though. I was very small until my late 20's when I went up to 145. After I lost 20 lbs, and gained much more muscle, which I guess accentuated the weight loss, I had a couple of people, at different times ask me what had happened, why I had lost so much weight, and had I been sick! That took the cake. I was so happy that I was in better shape, but people seem to assume that you can't lose a good amount of weight because you wanted to do so. I guess that's part of the problem with society in general in terms of weight loss, they think it's not possible, so they don't even try.

:D It is strange how the muscle/fat ratio works. I am 5'5" 130-135 lbs and depending on the brand of clothing, I can wear in the range from a size 6 to 10. My bone structure is a small/medium. I think it all has to do with the way our bodys are proportioned. I am genetically destined to have a pear body (larger hips). I don't take too much heart as to how much I weigh because I know I have much more muscle, my clothes fit great, I wear the same size as in high school, (if not smaller) and I can even wear junior clothes!
