As you girls have also noticed, because it is so confusing to go by what charts say, this is why I just go by what is best for my bone structure. There is no way that the 3 sizes fits all in those charts can take into consideration all the different builds people have.
I'm 5'3 and weight has fluctuated from 100-128. I'm an ecto like Angela. I have very long thin arms. At that high weight, which the charts say is in my range, I look like a blimp and have had many people say so. Well...not say the word 'blimp', but comments like, "my, you have sure put on some weight." DH will say, 'what do you intend to do to get to get back where you are supposed to be?' or 'have you seen how big you are getting lately?"
I'm best at 105 which I now am. But the charts would scream that I'm too thin.
Yes, like Angela said, these unsolicited observations are rude, no matter from what source they come from.
But my point is, what weight someone is carrying well and looks good, isn't necessarily the weight someone else can carry well even though they may be the same height.
Like your observations above, someone at one weight and height wears a 9-10 for example and another at the same weight and height wears a 2-3. Bone structure and difference in the muscle mass is part of the reason for the difference.
I guess that is another reason why it is not wise to compare oneself with another. To achieve the looks of another person may be next to impossible, if not dangerous to our health.
Each of us are unique in our own right. Each of us are beautiful in our our right. Charts are a ballpark not a rule.
And.. again...Rhonda my hat is off to you for achieving your goal. The committment to yourself in a exercise program is worthy of an award in itself. Achieving a goal makes the committment even more motivating.
Hip Hip Hip Hurray! as Cathe says in Cardio Kicks which I'd better get busy and do. }(
