HSTA or HSC?

Hi guys,

Looking for some expert opinions... :)

If you had to choose just one of the two, which would you choose: HSTA or HSC? I previewed both on the website and they both look great, but I've already got a million things on my wish list and I want to buy one of these two for now.

What's the verdict? :)

Thanks!
Jennifer

I vote for the tougher one which is HSTA. There have been numerous threads on this if you want to look. HSTA doesn't have abs; HSC does. HSTA has loads of leg presses and lots of different exercises like one-armed tricep dips. For me, it's even tougher than Boot Camp. Some people like the music better in HSC. I also like HSTA because you use only two sets of dumbbells (5 and 10 pounds) and a fixed barbell (30 pounds). It saves me a lot of time from changing the barbell all the time.

Thanks, Marcy!

Cathe said that for this workout (HTSA), the core is worked so much in the exercises that that's why she decided not to add specific core exercises at the end. Do you find that this really works your core?

This is a hard question as they are both very different. Like Marcy, I feel that HSTA is the tougher one. I like HSC probably because it's a little easier, doesn't have tons of leg presses and incorporates an ab section in the end. You can't really go wrong with either one. If I had to choose I would pick HSTA just because it's harder and it does challenge me.

HSTA for the more challenging of the two; HSC for the music (and it's still a great, tough workout!). HSTA cardio is done using 8" risers under the high step; HSC uses 6" risers, and sometimes doesn't use the step at all for the cardio. HSTA has great premixes; so does HSC. HSC has two Timesaver premixes, which HSTA does not have.

Ideally I'd get both if I were you because they're both awesome. If you have to get just one:
I'd recommend HSTA if you really want to work your upper body. There are some amazing exercises in this one: one armed tricep push ups (which kill me every time). The legs get an excellent workout too. I find my core gets a good workout because you really need to "turn it on" to do the exercises properly.
If you really want to work on endurance get HSC. I don't get the same upper body burn with this one. The variety of exercises is fun and the sweat flies.

I like HSC much more than HSTA - I think the 6 (or whatever) sets of leg presses in HSTA are excessive...

I totally agree about the leg presses, but HSTA kicks my butt everytime. It is definately the more challenging of the two. I pull out HSC if I want a fun circiut, and HSTA if I really want to sweat!!
Also, no abs in HSTA and great abs in HSC if that matters to you.

Deanie:)
