HSC vs. HSTA opinions

I am planning to buy all the Gym Style dvd's as a birthday present to myself, and want to add another dvd to take advantage of the free shipping offer if I spend over $100. I have a high step, but no real "high step" dvd to go with it except High Step Circuit which is a little too easy for me. So Catheites, which do you prefer: High Step Challenge, or High Step Training Advanced? Thanks in advance for your input!!
Paula

I vastly prefer the HSTA cardio to the HSC cardio; in fact, I've never done the HSC cardio precisely because it is too easy and too brief for my tastes, something easily seen in previewing. On the flip side, however, HSTA has no core routine and HSC does. However . . .

I vote HSTA.

IMO, I prefer HSC over HSTA cause it's more fun for me to do plus not as many leg presses.
Since you don't own a "high step", Cathe does sell the topper, which I have and works well. The topper sits on top of your risers from the Original Step Bench.

I prefer HSC. Yes, the cardio is shorter, but Cathe only does two sets of leg presses which is just fine with me.

Sorry, Paula. I misread your post on owning a high step.
Hope it helps someone else out.

Jennie-congrats on being smoke free.

Thanks Jennifer

I like them both, but HSTA gets me everytime!! It is one tough workout! HSC is a walk in the park comparitively (sp?). There is no "core" routine, but believe me, your core gets worked!!!

I prefer HSTA for the reasons already mentioned above, it's a very tough workout and I feel like i've accomplished something when I'm finished and yes it has a lot of leg presses but your legs and butt will thank you later.

On the other hand, I like HSC for days when I want to workout but maybe not quite as hard. It's still a great workout. I guess it depends on what you're looking for in a workout.

I really like both of these but if I HAD to pick just one, I would choose HSTA. It's tougher than HSC and I like the weight workout in it better. The cardio is longer and you gotta love all those leg presses. :)

Thank you all for your opinions! I'm really split now. I'm leaning toward HSTA, but the mention of all those leg presses has me scared!

Hi, I wanted to add that HSC uses more heavy weights were as in HSTA Cathe uses a set 30lb BB and 5 and 10 lb DB. I count HSC as a "heavy circuit" and HSTA more of a endurance circuit. I hope that helps. Peggy

IF i had to choose just ONE i would do high step training advanced. the premixes make it easier to make up workouts. the high step challenge is a great workout, but the premixes don't do it for me. i like how i can rearrange or do stand alone segments from HSTA to really mix things up. plus those leg presses. AH! nothing works better for me then leg presses.

Is High Step Training the same as High Step Training Advanced? I can't find one with Advanced in the title on the website. Thanks!

I HATED leg presses until I got HSTA and had to learn to deal with them. Now, I actually like them, and they work you good! HSTA is a fun, fun workout, and it really gets the legs good. I like HSC, but I enjoy HSTA much more.
