How tough is Body Max?

I'm sure this has been asked before but I had no luck with a search. I've owned Body Max for a year now and have never gotten around to doing it. It looks rather daunting, but I've pretty much mastered most of Cathe's choreo and I just did IMAX twice without much difficulty. I was wondering how tough this workout really is. My biggest problem is finding the time for a long workout, but I may schedule it on a challenge day. I know a lot of people like to break this vid up into 2 parts. Does anyone do it from beginning to end?

Body Max is a tuffy!!!! It was the first video that I owned from Cathe.I started out only doing the first segment and then a little bit of the other.Normally now, I use it when I need to do a full body workout. So, yep, I do the whole thing. It's usually my Sunday workout.I don't have to think about what I will do next, just pop one tape in and I am done.
You should really try it.It's a shame to have such a good workout laying around collecting dust...but thats what it's like when we are afraid of something:)
It is hard to explain though b/c I still get tired sometimes from the workout depending on how much energy I go in with.Just b/c you can do Imax doesn't mean that you will find Body MAx any easier. You should find the steps pretty easy to learn. It never takes me very long to catch on to a workout b/c she always throws in something you have seen before
You will just have to try it and find out.....go on now....try it and let us know what you think.

Body Max is one of my favorites. I've only done it all the way through in one workout session a few times, but that is due to time restrictions. I thought it was very tough to do it all at once, but that's what I love about it. (I'm an intensity junkie) The step section is fairly fast, but the choreography is typical Cathe. If you are easily able to catch on to her other step videos, this one should come easily also. The only problem may be the speed which takes a little getting used to. I also like the circuit section because I prefer not to alternate cardio and circuit one after the other in cycles (like in circuit max). The upper body weight section is great because it's intense, but quick. I use it on days that I over sleep, but still want to get in a morning workout.

I think you are missing out by not giving this one more use. Even if it is very tough, you can always modify and use it to inspire yourself to reach new goals.

Body Max is a great, great workout. Its definitely worth working on. And if you find the 90 minutes daunting, you can almost break it into three different workouts - step, circuit and upper body and tack one of them on to something else you do.

I used to often do the step portion of Body Max after doing weights - was a good cardio workout squeezed into a short period of time.

I have done it all the way through several times as a weekend workout (I always spend more time on the weekends) and it was very tough but you felt great for making it through!

Give it a try, you'll like it!

You've all convinced me to try it, which I'll probably do Sat. I'll do a couple easy workouts at the end of the week so I can give it my all on Sat. Do you consider the strength portion of the w/o more muscle endurance, or is it similiar to PS? Thanks for the advice!

The strength work in it is all muscle endurance.Actually, I would consider that the whole video to be endurance and I beleive that she confirms that a couple of times in the video.Thats why you need a lot of stamina going in.....

p.s have fun....

I've been known to do MIC or Imax because I didn't want to take ont he challenge of doing Body Max. Does that tell you anything? Seriously, it leaves everything feeling worked out and it has some great music and choreography!

Well, I did it this morning! Lot of fun! I was interrupted a few times by my DD's so I can't say I did it nonstop, but I didn't take any breaks either! The stepping is fast and it was hard to keep up at times, esp. when she did the side to side lunges off the step--which as I recall was her last power drill. I didn't go as heavy with my barbell as I could have during the squats and lunges because I didn't know what to expect next and I was afraid of tiring myself out. The upper body was tough because she goes so fast, but I felt really worked! All in all, a great thorough workout and I look forward to doing it again.:)

Glad you enjoyed it:) Knew you would.I haven't done this video in about 3 weeks now, maybe I will take it our tomorrow.I thought about going for a run but it all depends on the weather.....WINTER SUCKS}(

I did Body Max---Woo-Hoo!!!

I have been so afraid of this one because it is the first Cathe I ever tried. I just about passed out after 40 minutes. (This was about 1 month ago). I didn't even have enough stamina to check my PULSE!!!

Since then, I have really built my endurance level up doing the CTX series, IMAX1, Rythmic Step, and now the new Intensity Series. Last night I tried Body Max again and got through the whole thing without modifying.

YAAAAAYYYYY!!! Cathe's workouts are so awesome!!! I've gotten so much stronger!!!! Woo-Hooooo!!!!
