How to shorten Body Max?

I'm switching to doing circuit training three days per week (starting tomorrow) but I just realized that Body Max is 90 minutes. How can I shorten it...maybe a couple different ways? Thanks all....

Maybe you can do only a half, the cold down and the stretch.

The lower body circuit section is only about 20 minutes long. The upper body endurance section is a little longer - maybe 25 minutes? The first section - only step - is about 24 minutes I think.

HI Sue,

You can easily split Body Max into 2 or 3 different workouts.

Warmup
Step Portion
Cooldown
Stretch
Time: 39 min.

Warmup
Step Portion
Circuit Portion
Cooldown
Stretch
Time: 57 min.

Warmup
Upper Body workout
Stretch
Time: 46 min.

Hope that helps you

OR do it as a whole long 90 min. workout.:7

This is a FANTASTIC lower body workout, I do this one a lot.

I did the whole workout today. Sweat was dripping off my elbows while holding my barbell on my shoulders. Sheesh. I usually only do the step and circuit workout and then cooldown. It is a great endurance workout if you have time to do the whole thing. /karen

I did the whole workout today too. I only have this one on VHS so when I do it I always do the whole thing. Definitely was feeling my abs by the end of the ab section. Yep, sweat was dripping off me - you know I really hate it when sweat starts to drip and it tickles my face but I'm in the middle of a set and can't scratch itx( I hate that.

I plan on doing a shorter version of this tonight since I have a cold and don't feel like giving it my all. I'm going to do the warm up, power drills, then the upper body work. I should clock in at just an hour.

Sometimes I do the warmup and step portion (or warmup, step, circuit--depending on time) before I get the kids off to school and then finish with the circuit + weights (or just weights--depending on how far I got earlier) later in the day.

My youngest isn't in school yet and he hates this workout because "it takes too long!" He keeps asking if I'm done yet, only to find out that I haven't even started with the weight section. I try to do it on Monday's (after my rest day), and last Monday he staged a boycott by sitting in the middle of the step and refusing to get off.x( . . .but I digress.

Good Luck,

Carol F

That is so cute (well maybe not for you at the time). My son drags out my extra step when I'm working out. Last night I almost flipped in the dark b/c I didn't remember to put "his step" away. It's sweet that your son wanted "mommy time". They grow up so fast. :) /karen

You're right, Karen. They do grow up so fast. That's too adorable about your son and the extra step--as long as you don't break your neck in the dark.

This a.m. I did the warm up, circuit section, upper body, abs and cool down. Chapter 3, then to Chapter 5 and let it play to the end. Just over an hour. Whole body workout with about 20 or so minutes of cardio. The circuit sections are pretty easy choreography wise for a two left feet woman like me, but man do they work you. I went light on the weights to give myself a break after some heavier lifting earlier in the week.

I will say I am having some real lower back pain so I am going to get some Advil, yoga and rest into my routine this weekend. Rest, sure I have time for that.

Does anyone have the exact times of each section?

That is, how long is the abs section? It's not listed on the back of the DVD unless it is included in the upper body muscle conditioning (34 mins.)

Edited to answer my own question: the exact times of each and every section are listed on this website under "DVD's", "Bodymax" from the home page. I wrote down some mish-moshes (thanx AJ) to turn to at 4:30 in the morning when I am not yet able to think.

Such as the ones listed here, with abs, without abs, etc.
