How much viagra spam must a woman endure?

It's making me nuts! I have no idea how I got on these distribution lists, but I get something like 40-50 emails a day advertising viagra on my Yahoo account. And they're so cheesy & annoying! Here are some REAL email titles, for your reading pleasure:

Achieve perfection in your sexual life with Generic Viagra
Leave behind your sexual troubles with Generik Viagra (ummm, please learn to spell if you're gonna send me these icky emails!)
Generik Viagra will make you love your life
No problems in sex-no problems in life. Viagra Pro. (exactly how many different kinds of Viagra are there? And do they give different results? HUH?)
Feel yourself a superman with SuperViagra (my favorite!)
Viagra Pro. Your wife will ask for mercy. (OMG!)
You'll win any lady you want with Generik Viagra (how so? Do you just walk up to the woman of your dreams & say "feel my package?")

Those are some examples from today. I never open these emails b/c I was told (I think here?) that if you do your email spreads to these vendors like wildfire. So how do I stop them?

Oh my goodness some of those are just plain disgusting! "Your wife will beg for mercy"?!?!?!?!?!?!? Yikes.

I used to have an email account that got overtaken by spam to the point where I just closed it out and opened a new one. It's crazy.

Aw man! Is that the only solution? I love that account name! I've had it for 10 years & I swore I'd never give it up!

You shouldn't have to change it. What I did is keep my email address but change to a different company (or whatever you call it). I switched from Hotmail to Comcast. Then from comcast to yahoo. Then from yahoo back to comcast. sheesh.

Your email may have a button that says "report as spam" it won't help with all of it, as lot of the spammers have multiple add's they send from, but it could cut back on some.

Nan

Or for giggles, you could just forward it back to them

I used to get stuff like that at work, on the company's email. It was a hospital, and it should have been a secure connection. They had all sorts of firewalls, and I have no idea how it got through. It drove me nuts.

On an average, I get about one of those emails a day. I keep reporting it as spam, but I always see a new one in my INBOX.

Before Viagra got big (lol), it seemed like every ad you saw was the "get bigger boobs" thing for women. Personally, I'm kind of amused/relieved that the tables seem to have turned when it comes to our society's obsession with unrealistic sexual attributes.

Ironically the email update on this thread just came to my spam folder. :p I guess my email filtered it based on the word Viagra in the subject.

spamfighter! Seriously, I use the free version and it blocks 99.9% of the viagra/ nigerian money spam. Just go to www.spamfighter.com and download the FREE version. I never pay for anything extra and it works great. Note: It will add a little advertisement for itself to your outgoing email siggie, but if it works, I figure they deserve the props. HTH!

I work in e commerce....and OH boy...I know all about Viagra...and porn. It was so bad that at one point that my co worker would stand behind me as I would filter the company email. Now...I work with all guys. I am the only girl in the office.

I went on vacation last year...and my boss said no wonder she cursing like a sailor...talking about me...and when I came back...my email had more filters. That was a nice surprise. He said that I averaged 3.25 hours a day deleting email if I deleted each one separately...but I used to filter it and delete it at the same time....while cursing...smile.

So, yep...I know exactly how you feel.

Our spam filters at work are finally working well.
I used to get viagra-and-such spam all the time.
I once got one offering viagra, a penis-enlargement pill, and breast-enhancement pills. Would have gone for it if I were a confused transexual.

I also use google...my spam folder fills quickly, but at least I don't have to look at it...and there's this nice delete all button. Love google mail.

I don't use google for anything! I saw a documentary called "Big Brother is Watching" and one of the things they mentioned was that google stores every single thing you type into it for all of eternity. They said to use other search engines & cyber services like yahoo & hotmail, where at least when you delete stuff it's eventually permanently deleted, but to NEVER EVER use google!
