How Many Risers Needed for Shock Cardio?

Hi Cathe,

Could you please let us know how many risers we will need for Shock Cardio? If I need more I'd like to purchase them before the series comes out. :)

Risers for Shock Cardio

With the possible exception of just a few exercises you will not need any more risers than what we typically use in our workouts. Also, many of the workouts will not even use a step. In the Hiit workouts we have some exercises that use about 8 risers on each side, but we wont know until just before we film if these exercises will make the final cut. Cathe has prepared 7 HiiT workouts, but only 3 will end up being filmed.
 
I'm referring to a picture we posted from rehearsals showing Lorraine and Cedie jumping onto a step with about 8 risers per side. These are box jumps and you need a pretty high step or wood/metal box to jump up onto.

Aah, got it. Just checked out the blog photos again. It looks like there are 7 or 8 risers per side in the 'box jumps' photo.

Looks like a wicked exercise. Can't wait for Shock Cardio!!!! :)
 
I'm glad we don't need a lot of equipment for HIIT. Since these are basically short 20 minute workouts, I was thinking it would be nice to bring these time-efficient workout DVDs along (on vacation or wherever) and just do the workouts without the fuss of bring along additional workout equipment. Actually, it would be really nice if you have one HIIT workout that doesn't use a step at all. :)

TarHeelMom, That does look wicked! How can anyone jump that high?:rolleyes: I think I can only jump with 3 risers on each side, tops. With 7 or 8 risers on each side, I have a lot of work ahead of me! Can't wait!

8 Risers!

My knees won't be able to take that either! Not to mention that I will be banging my head on my basement ceiling!
 
I wonder what a modification will be for that!!!!!!! My knees won't take it. Oh well. . .

I'm definitely not going to be jumping that high, at least not at first. I would suggest starting at 12" or around there, and increasing by 2" whenever that becomes less of a challenge. (Also, doing the moves at a slower pace than Cathe and crew is a viable modification).
