How many of you don't eat bread?

Neither bread nor pasta are a part of my diet. I agree with the previous poster about keeping an alkaline environment in the body. I do cook the "psuedo grains" she mentioned though--quinoa, buckwheat groats, amaranth. These are alakalizing.

I would never do away with fruit either--fruit juice, yes, but not fruit with the skin, pulp, and all.

Since dropping bread and acidic grains from my diet several years ago, I instantly shed twenty pounds and have no problem keeping it off. I'm sure it was the grains that were keeping me at the high end of my weight range.

I see no need to avoid grains nor would I forgo fruit. I enjoy a variety of complex carbs, fruit, and veggies. Experiment and try what works for you.

I eat a serving of whole grain cereals, steel-cut oatmeal, or oat bran a couple of times early in the day to stay regular as well. I avoid all breads and pastas because I LOVE them so. I can't eat just a couple of slices or one serving of pasta. I eat at least one piece of fruit a day too.

I eat a lot of fruit through out the day, so I don't need any whole grain or sprouted bread for fiber. However, I really enjoy eating sprouted bread, tortillas, oatmeal, etc., so I add them into my diet.

Allison, even though I don't eat much bread in my daily diet I do have a big weakness for warm, fresh-baked bread. It's a rare treat and so I most definitely indulge if I get the chance!

I have food sensitivites to wheat, gluten, and peanuts. I haven't eaten bread in several years. I would purchase wheat-free and gluten-free bread, but it's expensive.

It was difficult at first. I kept thinking, "What in the world am I going to eat?" However, my body let me know quickly that it was happy being wheat-free, gluten-free, and peanut-free. I adjusted by eating more fruits, vegetables, and wheat/gluten-free grains.

Ahhhhh I love bread!!! LOVE IT! I am an everything in moderation person :) even cake ;)

My favorite kind of bread is this Old Style 99% Fat Free Potato Bread - talk about probably not healthy! Last night I had one piece with tuna salad over it :) Fabulous!

I am more into watching portions than depriving myself of certain things.

I am not a chocolate lover ( oh dare I say that ) but every once in awhile I love dark chocolate.

HOwever, my weakness is PEANUT BUTTER!! I try to eat smaller portions and less calories during the week and give myself a treat day on the weekends - My husband and I go out to eat, we have drinks and I don't sweat it :)

I definitely find myself eating more when I try and stick to salads! BC then I don't feel full and the only dressing I really like is Hidden Valley Light Ranch - so not very healthy and I end up with more calories on my plate then a dry turkey sandwich!!!

Good Luck in your search!
