How many meals do you eat a day (average)

Well, now, that depends on a lot of factors. When I have PMS, I eat about 73 meals a day.:)

Usually though, I eat 6. Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner and occasionally something before bed depending on whether I work out before or after dinner.

Do you mean 73 little meals, or one great big meal?

I eat 3 meals, with a snack before I go home from work in the afternoon. I try not to, but usually end up snacking while making dinner too. Eating smaller meals more frequently just isn't satisfying for me.

4-6? You know, I don't even pay that much attention, especially when I don't have to teach, like in the summer, so don't have a set schedule. I just eat when I'm hungry, and make sure to have breakfast and a post-workout 'refueling' as two of those meals.

1 large breakfast, 1 snack, 2 medium lunches(2-3 hours apart), and 1 small dinner. I guess it totals to around 5 or so. I eat about 1800 to 2300 calories a day.

4-5.

When PMS'ing, I have 1 meal a day...one very long continuous meal that starts in the a.m. and takes me to bedtime. I'm guessing the calorie count would feed a third world nation.

Yes, Sarah, that's the same meal I have!!!! You wouldn't believe what I've already eaten today. I console myself with the fact that it's been mostly pretty healthy.

I usually eat 6 mini-meals throughout the day which lunch being the largest. I workout in the evening before dinner so I usually have something lighter for dinner.

I generally eat 4-6 meals a day. I strive for 6 but so long as I get 4 in I am okay.

If it's less than 4 I'm not happy cause that usually means they were BIG, BAAAAD meals...

I eat 5 or 6 small meals a day. Overall calories are somewhere in the ballpark of 2000-2500. Here is my typical daily meal plan:

Breakfast: Yogurt with fresh fruit sliced up in it (whatever fruit I have on hand), topped with raw oatmeal and granola.

Midmorning snack: Either a protein bar or almonds and fruit.

Lunch: Usually chicken salad on whole wheat and fresh fruit.

Midafternoon snack: Either a protein bar or almonds and fruit.

Dinner: Really varies...mostly chicken with brown rice and steamed veggies or whole wheat pasta and some sort of healthy topping (tuna salad, tomato sauce, etc.)

Evening snack: Really varies...somethings nothing at all, sometimes fruit, or organic pudding and raw oats.

I eat 5 meals a day and usually in the 1800 calorie range. Looking at Charlotte's calorie range I'm wondering if I'm not eating enough? Oh, and I love eating a protein bar and drinking a protein shake every day. I look forward to those two things.

Debbie,

Me too. I think of those protein snacks as a real treat. I get in my chocolate fix that way cuz both are chocolate. If hubby buys the vanilla protein shake, I will put in hersheys cocoa. :p :9

Charlotte~~

Shelley,

I lurk here often. And let me tell you...you make me laugh out loud!

As for me...two meals. I know...my nutrition is in need of some serious help! LOL!

I eat 2 major meals a day, then snacks in between, each maybe 100-200 calories, depending on what I am in the mood for.

Like ^^^, if I am PMSing, it's 1 meal, all day long, i.e., "grazing" as DH puts it.

Calories? Not really sure anymore. I am on WW and was on about 1300-1400 per day (I think, it was 24 points), but found out that it wasn't enough, so I recently increased, so now I am really not sure.
