How long?

Cathlete
Hi everyone! Hope all of you are doing great. This is my first post in your forum. I've been a regular excerciser for thirty years. But I've just started Cathe's tapes with X-train. I love her work. And I love this forum. Reading it has answered many of my questions. I have done 4 tapes of this series without any problem, but following Cathe's choreography in "step&intervals" was not so smooth!! So now I am procastinating the "All step" work out tape!!! Worrying that I might just end-up doing simple step-ups when the steps get complicated!! Oh, and when I turn my back to the TV, is another story!!!
How long, average, does it take to get the moves on the step right? Thanks, in advance for your response! And have a wonderful day.

I started Cathe years ago, so I forget how tough the choreography is. But if one of my friends tries Cathe with me, they're definately confused.

You WILL catch on after a few tries! Once you do, it won't take long to catch on when you get new tapes from her. It'll be fun rather than discouraging. Don't give up! There will be a day when you just "get it" and it becomes so much fun!

Plus, you're starting with tapes that have a bit more challenging choreography. I even had to stop to see what she was doing on these tapes. A lot of the moves are from older tapes, but the moves she added are tough. If you can get through these tapes, you'll be fine with her others too.

Hi, I was also confused when I started with the CTX series, but I think that ultimately, these tapes become so fun, that you forget that you had trouble learning them.

I've always been a 'simple choreography, no-brainer' type cardio person. I remember asking for advice in regard to what tapes to purchase and I would ALWAYS include the fact that I did not want anything more than athletic movements and very basic choreography, but now I'm actually preferring the more complex and intricate steps. I'm on week 3 of the CTX series (starting Monday) and I was able to do All Step yesterday with really no problems (I had to rewind one segment, but then I had it down), so that means by the 2nd go-round, I had the steps down. I think Cathe's excellent cueing has everything to do with how I picked up the moves, though. I have a tendency to be impatient when it comes to learning steps, but I looked at this as more fun, so I didn't become so frustrated with myself.

Have fun, and I know you'll pick those moves up soon!

just 2 more cents to add: it's definitely helpful to preview the tapes first. it really can make a difference. that way if you spot any areas that look like they may be tricky you can practice them first!

I find previewing the tapes really helps - and just practicing a little bit during the previewing, without the step, to get the feel for it. Also, Cathe's cueing is so excellent, just really concentrating on her cues helps.

Once you nail the steps, you'll love it! The variety really makes the cardio session go by so fast. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for your helps and encouragements. I can't wait to master the moves.
Thanks again.
