how do u curb evening sweet tooth?

I've been clean-ish eating for one week now. I feel good but very weak during the evening when all I want is something sweet. Last night it was a serving of girl scout cookies, tonight it's two sugarfree cookies and one slice of cake (ugh!!)

I'd like to hear suggestions or give me an idea of what you reach for when you get a "goody attack". Thanks for your help.

I love frozen strawberry fruit bars. Ones made of actual fruit and not high fructose corn syrup or the like. The ones I get are frozen strawberry puree and yummy. A good treat for the sweet tooth and still good for me!

La Yogurt non-fat Probiotic blueberry yogurt. 100 super-yummy calories with lots of blueberry chunks. :9 :9 :9 :9

Not clean, but it's great damage control.

I just eat what I want and workout longer...haha!
But seriously, sometimes you just have to give in. But when/if I don't give in, usually, I will have some cereal or oatmeal, or a slice of PB toast w/ skim milk.

Ah, the eternal question....
I agree with Clarissa, sometimes you just have to give in.
Try planning a cheat so you look forward to it. Works for me...sometimes...}( :7

Cathe once suggested doing push ups when the cravings hit. Drop and do 10, then see if you still want something sweet.

I have an evening protein shake. Last night was chocolate with a bit of peanut butter and a banana blended in. I might also eat two Lorna Doon cookies.

Hi Carmen,

I think about which I would rather have - sweets or my ideal weight.

I am my own thinspiration since I used to look good; now I feel like an orca.

I was a sugar addict and believe me, every day it gets easier.

I went from 3 300 calorie sodas to none.

I gradually reduced my intake and now I don't drink them anymore.

I like what lainiefig said about going to bed earlier. It really does work! When I went to bed after 11 pm on a consistent basis, I was always hungry. Now, I make sure I'm in bed before 11.

As far as after-dinner goodies, I always keep homemade cookie dough in the freezer, so I can just make a couple (one for me and one for DH). I also really enjoy 2 squares of Frey Supreme Pecan & Caramel Milk Chocolate (115 calories) or a cup of good English black tea with a cube of sugar and a drop of cream.

As you can see, I avoid low-fat and sugar-free. I like the real thing even if there's less of it!

I have a definite sweet tooth and I bake on nearly a weekly basis, but I count calories, so I always know if I can have a treat.

Sugar free hot chocolate gets me through. 25 calories a pop (I'll have two glasses per day) and it is yummy! I try to watch how much artificial sweetner I consume, but this is one I have yet to give up. Love, love, love it this time of year.

Also, I'll eat about 7-10 semi-sweet chocolate chips.

I also found dark chocolate dipped Altoid mints. 15 calories for 2, no sweetners, and you get a little chocolate and the mint cleans your palate and makes me want to stop eating.

Hey Carmen!

I don't have a suggestion for you, but I did want to tell you you're not alone. I ate an entire BOX of Girl Scout cookies yesterday!

Don't be too hard on yourself. We all mess up now and again. I know I do!

Good luck!

Oh, I can sympathize with this! I also use the No Sugar Hot Cocoa (Swiss Miss) and I love Kozy Shack 100 calorie chocolate pudding snacks. Neither of these options are 'clean' but they do the trick for me. I also buy a bag of dark chocolate squares (I like Hershey's 60% dark chocolate) and I have my husband hide them - he's been trained to only give me 2 when I'm desperate;)
