How do I get rid of my "J-Lo" butt?

melagras

Cathlete
I just bought the cutest stretch knit pencil skirts at Old Navy and my butt looks huge in them. I know you can't spot reduce your abs but does that also apply to your butt? Should I double up on cardio every day? I need some suggestions.

Thanks! I'll get started this evening. I can feel the DOMS already. Ha! Ha!

Lol, I have about ten days left to do on this...
Feel free to amend it to your taste and do as much as you can.
you will gain result I am sure. The first two days were really painful. My glutes were really sore. I had to double up the mat for floor segments. I am very happy with result.

Please let us know how you are getting on. I love sharing results and thoughts on various fitness and nutrition topics :)

All the very best ;-)

I find this interesting, since I am just happy to have a bit of booty, since before I started working out faithfully again with Cathe 3yrs ago (I first started in 2004...but quit for a few years) I had Very little! Now I know that if I stop again it will just disintegrate!:D

I think my husband would kill me if I lost my butt. Since working out with Cathe, mine has plumped up and in on the sides. I lost my saddle bags and now everything looks great. I think what really helped the most was the sliding disks, all the lunges with those really work your butt in a completely different way.

Mine was 4-5 time bigger when I wasn't working out more than 8 years ago. Lol

I am happy to have earned a rounded compact and fairly projected (plumped up - deazie style ;))) pair of cheeks lol.

No saddle bag for me yuk. Those are long gone. :))))

Yep , I'm kinda with Tracy - the little that I have is probably due to Cathe and those 100 rep hip thrusts that I have been sentenced to doing for life ...

I did Butt and Guts today oh boy.

Few days away from completing this rotation. Happy with result but also happy to move on.

To kate : Glad you mentioned hip thrust. It's time i incorporate it to my routine.
Thanks:)

How do I get one???? I suffer from the dreaded NAAA disease(No Ass At All).....what little I have is due to weights and hill running......

Eat pizza, ice cream, burgers and fries, etc. I got into a junk food mode a couple of months back and now I am seeing the end result every time I look in the mirror.

If I do that my boobs and tummy get bigger....still no butt.

Building a healthy glute

Lol NAAA disease:D:D:D.

IMO, anyone struggling to gain muscle can still work to gain a curvy pair of cheeks. It require more work for some people but even those who are "genetically blessed" have to work. No one want a pair of glute heading south instead of defying gravity:mad::mad::mad:

In my experience, when I do too much long steady pace work out it flattens my glutes. Heavy deadlift, lunges, squat and barre and floor work (Donkey kick...) is helping to gain some curve. Healthy one! It is all about getting rid of layers, defining muscle and eventually building.

Ps Have you tried the notoriously known Rockbottom rotation. This is the first starting point. I am almost done on this rotation and I am happy with result. I actually got more than I expected.

The NAAA disease - I hear that ! Have you read the book , " Strong Curves ", by Brett Contreras ? We were talking about it on a different thread . He's known as the , " Glute Guy ", because he's got a lot of insight into training this stubborn area . It's worth checking out .

Oh yes . The Rockbottom rotation called out to me the first time I laid eyes on it . It's great to hear that you got the results you did ! Have you read the book I mentioned ? While he does focus on the glutes , I think he has some good tips on training a woman's body in general .

Bret contrera aka king of strong glutes

Kate,

I have read the the other thread on Get Glutes program.
http://cathe.com/forum/f97/get-glutes-program-294064/

No I have not read the book but I think you ladies have enabled me.
Bret Contreras is known as the " The expert/king of strong glute". He has done research on glute:D:D:D

I am not inclined to subscribe the six membership though. I wish he produced dvds. I am going to have to wait what cathe has got on the "fridge" for usv:D:D:D.

Kate let us know what you gained from Rock Bottom rotation. Butt and Gut ,which is on the rotation,is on daily deal today. I did it yesterday and the core segment fired my midsection.:D

Hmm I want the book;)

What is the rock bottom challenge? My nickname for bodyparts is BBP..boom..boom...pow so theme song by black eyed peas gets me motivated. In my mind I use BBP..breast...belly...pow=booty. Over the weekend my sisters were picking at me like...dang your pow is always gonna b there. Genetically how my body is shaped yes but it has shrinked thank goodness. Although we are trying to shape up...some people pay to enhance body to get things we are trying to lose so I cannot complain....hehe.

Glutes still there

Lol Denisha:D:D,

I hear you lol. Same here "Pow" is still there and I have come to term to embrace it. I had to as I previously had a partner complaining during the shrinking process :rolleyes::confused::confused::D:eek:.
I could not agree more with hightlighted sentenced above.

Decades ago who thought people would possibly pay for such enhancement:p:p:eek:

I can not complain either...I have always been reminded by sisters and nieces about my derriere even before the "shrinking process" Now i still have something. I am happy to have a compact plumped up and rounded Glute. Well I can fairly state it look cute ;) Thanks to cathe ;)

Hi Denisha,

Here is the original Notoriously known Rock bottom rotation:
http://cathe.com/forum/f100/feb-2011-rock-bottoms-rotation-281088/

There is another lower body rotation, which IMO is not as challenging the one above: Feb 2012 rotation http://cathe.com/forum/f100/feb-2012-rotation-287841/

I just tell everyone I've been working my gluts really hard...that's why they look so swollen :p!
