How did you get to visit this forum?

I have been a member of Cathe's forum since 2001. I "met" Cathe on her exercise and pregnancy forum. She was pregnant with her second son. She was so warm and welcoming and I was embarrassed to admit to her that I didn't even know she made workout videos. She made me welcome despite this glaring fact!

Being in Australia, I didn't have access to any of her workouts - but I wanted to try some. After we had our babies, Cathe made the Intensity series and I did a small order for Cardio and Weights and Imax 2. This was late in 2002 and I had been actively posting without ever owning a Cathe workout.

I've made up for it though, I own nearly all of them and they are great!

I've met some really nice posters here and on VF.

How did you arrive :)

Hi Liz,

I "found" Cathe somewhere around 1999-2000 (can't remember exactly when) while in my pursuit for interval training workouts. I had been doing Reebok's Intense Moves tape for a while was on the lookout for something new.

Some research on the VF web site pointed me here and the rest, as they say, is history. IMAX was my first purchase. :)

Great thread, Liz!

I found Cathe in 1995 or 1996 through Video Fitness.

I had been a Firmie for about 10 years and was totally bored with it, and probably through some kind of search engine (I don't remember, sorry, menopause -- oy vey) I found VF. So I spent a lot of time there, researching videos, and I bought some Karen Voight and some Kari Anderson, and Cory Everson's shoulders & arms classic. I was new to step so I didn't buy any Cathes at first, but in a couple of months once I'd mastered Karen Voight's Energy Sprint (still an old favorite) I felt brave enough to tackle Cathe's choreography and bought one, then two, then ALL of her then-existing tapes. And found this website and these forums. The rest is history. I've been an almost total Cathe monogamist for years now (with the glaring exception of my foray into P90X, which I really like very much but have a hard time fitting into my Cathe habit. :) Tony is not Cathe, no matter how much he brings it.)

I actually got a friend hooked on Firm workouts. Somehow, I don't even remember how, wef ound Cathe together. She ordered several Cathe workouts and then sent me quite a few one year as a birthday gift. A few workouts later, I was hooked! ;) If I remember correctly, we found the forum before she ordered the workouts and I started posting just after receiving the workouts (with all of my questions!).

I found out about Cathe through Collage and discovered this site through a web search....I have been doing her vids and posting on this forum since December 2004. I am a newbie still! :)

Have a great work out!

I discovered Cathe in 1992. "Shape" magazine used to have a yearly review of new workout videos, and Cathe's "Step in Motion 3" was given high ratings. I ordered it, then discovered the web site, and from here discovered VF.

I got Cardio Hits from Collage Video. Loving the DVD so much, I did an online search for Cathe Friedrich and found this site. And here I am.

I found Cathe on Fit TV last summer when I was looking for a boot camp type workout - and found Boot Camp! Loved it the minute I tried it, and the rest was history! I'm not a big forum person, but I really love reading the posts here and feel like I've learned more about fitness here in the past 6 months or so than I have in my 12+ years of exercising! I will often search random fitness topics just to see the great stuff that has been discussed over the years!

I purchased MIS and MIC through Collage's brochure in 1999. Cathe says on the video "if you have any questions, please visit my website at Cathe.com. I was an on and off lurker for about four years, then registered.

I was originally a Firm home video excersiser. After I discovered Cathe, I simply went to her website and was smitten!

This forum and the workouts are a rare and wonderful thing. I know this. I appreciate all that I have learned here and I have met some neat people. Ultimately I have become more fit physically and leaned more about myself psycologically. Not a bad deal. dmd:)

My situation is similar to Gayle's. Back in 1999 I was searching the internet for fitness information and came across this site. I remember being utterly confused about all the alphabet soup. Then it started making sense.

I can so relate to someone new to this site talks about being overwhelmed with choices.

Great question - these replies are very interesting:

I saw an ad for www.collagevideo.com in Shape magazine only a couple months ago and saw the rave reviews for Cathe's videos. Being the bargain shopper that I am, I searched ebay for her dvd's and found that she has a website. The rest, as they say, is history.

I started Weight Watchers last March and began doing Kathy Smith step workouts in my basement, but thought it was too easy. In an effort to find something challenging, I posted a question on one of the boards at WW and someone referred me to Cathe and her website. Now, 1 year later, I have all byt 3 Cathe workouts and WANT MORE!!!!

I saw Cathe on FitTV and noticed the "cathe.com" logo at the end of the workout. I visited the site and the rest is history lol.

I 'found' Cathe (is that like 'finding Jesus?') in 1999 when I was a slightly overweight, unhappy wife. I was looking for something EASY to do to lose some weight. HA! HA! HA! I found Cathe instead just through generic internet searches and was hooked as soon as I bought Cardio Hits. Now almost 6 years (and all of Cathe's DVDs) later, I am a very fit, happy divorced woman who loves being a part of such a diverse and fun group of Cathe-ites. :)

I recently purchased Body Fusion thru Collage and loved it. I saw the "visit Cathe.Com" and when I saw what I'd been missing out on, I ordered practically every series and now I'm a Cathe addict!!

She's the best. I wish I would have found her a long time ago. I used to always see her tapes in the Collage guide, but they were always more expensive and I never heard of her. I wasn't sure I'd like her....yada yada yada and boy was I surprised to find out just how much I love her.

A post from both a newbie to the forum and a newbie to Cathe.

I was always unhappy with my weight. I tried to take off weight through fad diets but I could not stick with them and deep down I knew it was not the way to do things. Last summer I took a nutrition course for a college science credit and learned about how different food impacts the body. I still really wanted to lose weight so I signed up for a account on sparkpeople.com. I used the site to track calories. I also worked out with Karen Voight and Kathy Smith style workouts.

The pounds started to come off and I was happy. However I got bored with my workouts quickly. I had this huge collection of workout DVDs because I would become bored with them in a matter of weeks. Plus I was like "okay I am shape now what?'. If the instructor was not breaking a sweat I was not convinced I was getting a good workout! A poster on a fitness forum suggested that I check out cathe.com because her workouts were probably the challenge I needed. I bought the Imax 2/Cardio and Weights DVD because it was the only one I could do with equipment I already owned since I was not sure if I was going to like Cathe's workouts or not. It came in like two days because I am from PA. I absolutely loved Imax 2. The music was fresh and I felt challenged again. I actually looked forward to working out again. I bought the whole Body Blast serious when I admitted to myself that I can not even do any of my other workout DVDs because they just do not seem good enough anymore. I also recently ordered the Hardcore serious and was not disappointed. Basicually I was hooked. I also liked Cathe because she did not seem gimmicky like a lot of other celebrities. She helped me get into the fitness focused mentality I have now.

Recently I discovered this forum. I lurked for a few weeks and found it to be a good source on helpful information. I found information to be helpful to help me achieve my goals of having a strong toned body. Plus the atmosphere seemed friendly. Many forums are very cliquey and mean spirited. So recently I decided to start posting.

I found Cathe at Collage and decided to visit her at Cathe.com when we finally got a computer. Little did I know what that was going to mean to me. It means so much to me! :)
