How did you first learn about Cathe?

This past Christmas, I was channel surfing, sitting in front of the TV late one night and munching on Christmas cookies. I knew that was a bad habit but I couldn't help myself. I turned to the FitTV channel and IMAX 2 was on. I can't remember which interval it was (I think it was the one with the fast foot tapping) and when I saw it I said , "that's crazy!" So I continued flipping through all of the channels and when I couldn't find anything worth watching, I started back at the beginning and flipped through stopping once again on FitTV. I watched the plio jacks and airborne jacks and was amazed. I had never seen anything like that before. I usually did "machine-style" cardio or TaeBo. I couldn't understand how any of the crew could remember all of the choreography and figured that Imax2 was "out of my reach" as I am challenged in that department. I was fascinated nonetheless, and somewhat inspired.

The next time I turned it to FitTV, Step Blast was on. I remembered it was during the "slam!" part and I said, "now THAT I can do". I kept watching and thought of how strenuous this workout was but it inspired me enough to purchase it and chisel away at the choreography. I also bought IMAX2 at the same time and stored it away "for later use". I couldn't believe how fast my feet were going during StepBlast and that I knew new choreography terms! I worked on it every other day for 1 1/2 months and made it through StepBlast. I knew Imax2 was still too tough for me so I did other Cathe workouts and before I knew it, I had enough strength and stamina to get through Imax2. I still modify Intervals 5 & 9 but I am getting there.

I think back to that first time I saw Cathe on TV and how I thought I'd never be able to finish one of her workouts. But I have to tell you all, that it became a personal goal of mine to get through Imax2 and when I was finally able to "clear the board and do jumping jacks" in Interval 9, I had tears of joy in my eyes! I had tears of pain from the airborne jumping jacks soon after but that's another story. :)

I'm interested to read about your first introductions to Cathe!

I had heard of Cathe for years, but did other tapes like the Firm and Kathy Smith. Then like you, I saw her on tv. Then punched up this web site, bought some dvd's and love them. I've only been doing her ( that doesnt sound right does it?) since March. I wish I had more space to do her step workouts. I have only endurance and strength workouts from her, but I've got enough room for KPC/LG so thats on its way. I hear about Imax and Bootcamp and wish I had the space for those, I'd love to do them!

This forum is great too, another perk from working out with Cathe. Everyone is so motivated and helpful!

About 3 years ago, I saw an infomercial for The Firm. I bought a bunch and joined their message boards. I hit a plateau and read about Cathe on The Firm's message boards. All everyone was saying, was how hard Cathe was and they were too scared to try her. That peaked my interest. I mean, how hard could it be?

Well, I ordered Body Max and tried it. I made it through about 20 minutes and then sat down on the couch with my mouth hanging open thinking "You've got to be kidding me!" LOL!!

I kept at it and a few weeks later I was flying through that workout with ease! http://www.chittielounge.com/board/images/smiles/041.gif I was surprised at how fast your endurance picks up if you just keep at it, and keep challenging yourself. My next workout was Rythmic Step and it was so much fun I felt like saying "Whhheeee!" just like a little girl! http://www.chittielounge.com/board/images/smiles/whee.gif

I ended up ordering all her workouts eventually. I now have them ALL! I gave most of my Firms away and I've been hooked ever since.

My neighbor had gotten me into the firm and I totally loved it! But when she got me into cathes workouts, I knew I was crossing over into something different! I now Have all of cathes workouts, but some I need to convert into dvds.

I don't think I could workout to anyone else!

I first saw her on FitTv. I used to like to do the 20 minute Aerobic Conditioning shows they had on there. HA!
I saw a few of Cathe's shows and thought "yeah right!" Then a few months later, I gave it a try and ended up loving her! Never had results like this in my entire life. Best thing I ever did was get DirectTV.

I got the firm box that tilts (what is the name of that?) for Christmas last year, and I was excited. But a few weeks later, it was easy again. So I went to Collage Video and read the Firm reviews and some of them mentioned Cathe. I did a bit more research, saw that a lot of past Firmers had moved to her, so I tried her out- with Low Max! And I had to continue. I got Kick Max for my birthday in May, and since then I've gotten 6 more dvds. I'm never going anyplace else- she's such fun, and challenging, too!! ;)

I was surfing at collagevideo.com and came across instructor bio's. I was clicking on instructors at random that I had never heard of...and there was Cathe...then I came to cathe.com...then I put in my first order...then the rest was history!!!

I first learned about Cathe while watching FitTV a few months ago. I've never seen women working out with barbells. I thought what the heck is this? I immediately changed the channel. I came across Cathe again on FitTV -- this time it was a step segment and the choreography was mind boggling. I couldn't possibly be able to attempt this. Well, a full size step, a Troy barbell and three DVDs later, I'm hooked.

I first learned about Cathe in videofitness. There is lot of Cathe's workouts in the videofitness's favorites. I searched her in Google and I discovered this website. I saw the videoclips and the rest is history.

Like Dani, I saw a Firm informercial and bought BSS1. I LOVED it. I remembered the infomercials from the 1980's-90's when they talked about women and weights.
I always worked out at home and even had a gym membership for several years. I like how workouts at home gave me a "program" with no wasted time. I found the ya yas and they kept mentioning Cathe. Then I got some of her workouts and I love the way she challenges you.
She reminded me of trainer I worked with. I thought putting 50 pounds on the leg press machine was adequate. Well, she loaded me up on everything and I could barely walk the next day but I finally saw results!!! I feel my Cathe workouts help me push it.;) Love her crew too!

What year did MIS come out? I had been Firming for a while, and was perusing my Collage Catalog and saw MIS. I read the description and thought, "What the heck, I'll try it!" It was my first Cathe, but not my last! :D

By the time I discovered Cathe I had a decent sized library of videos. I would order 1 or 2 new ones whenever I got a new Collage magazine in the mail and decided I'd try these all step workouts from this gal named Cathe. First was Step Jam, then Power Max, etc etc etc. I did Step Max last week for the first time in several months and remembered how hard it was the first time I did it. I still love that workout and am looking forward to doing Step Jam again this week.
