How about Bob on the Biggest Loser last night??

Great episode huh? Bob's outburst was well overdue! I was proud to see he had it in him! But, to see him get soooo ANGRY was one those "everybody hush" and listen to this moments in my house! Wow! Jillian's reaction was priceless. Usually it's her...so she was impressed herself. Giggle....

The weigh in had me extremely sad. I just sat there dropping tear after tear....very emotional for me! I never was as large as these contestants...but I know, from my own weight loss struggles, how important it is for both Jerry and Daniel to be there.... So, seeing one having to go crushed my heart!

Clarissa--you are so right about folks blaming others for their lack of results!!! I have many personal training clients who don't understand why they can only exercise and not watch what they eat; they don't "get" why they aren't seeing the results. I love the saying, "You can't exercise your way out of a poor diet."

I wish I could watch The Biggest Loser. I've seen reruns, but we don't get it in Germany--at least not the current season on the Armed Forces Network (AFN), which is what services the military. Plus, my DH and I don't have TV. We have a TV, we just don't have AFN. I love Jillian as I listen to her morning talk show downloaded to my MP3. I'm not exactly as tough as her, but whenever my clients give me "lip" I "pull a Jillian." ;)

Jillian gained 10 pounds? Well, if so, I really didn't notice, she looked terrific!

Oh, and I **LOVED** Bob's rant!! Boy, I wish I could do that at work! And I was so happy to see how great Jerry looked at the end of the show. You could just see that his whole being changed, he had color and spark back in his face. I love this show!

Laura- can you try to google Bob's reaction? Maybe it is on YouTube or like some recap on another site. It was the night of 1/13. Give it a try! Everyone's talking about it. He is actually on my Myspace page and I checked his page today and everyone is commenting about it to him! Haha!
 
I just adore Dan. What an amazingly upbeat and positive attitude he has! With all i'm sure he's been through in his life being that heavy (you know how kids are) it'd be easy for him to have a crappy attitude. He also seems quite mature for only 19. I felt for his partner at home. He just seemed so lost on what to order and I think honestly felt what he did order wasn't that bad. Judging by his family that was w/ him he's not going to have a ton of direction at home.

Gotta love Jerry though! I will admit to a tear or two when the guy weighed in. On the other hand though, I was almost glad to see him go just because I was afraid the workouts were going to kill him. He could barely make it down the stairs of the scale. He did look awesome at home!

Joelle....boy can she talk! What I think earned her the rath of Bob was just her lack of "try". You saw her look around the room and then stop exercising if she thought no one was looking. All talk and no work. Sad when so many people that wanted to be there had to go home.

I agree, that was so funny when Bob blew up. I'm not a PT but I don't blame him in the least. Jillian's reaction was comical.

I was bummed that Jerry and Dan fell below the yellow line. I was hoping Joelle would and then would have been sent home. Jerry left with such class. I thought he looked awesome when they showed him at the end of the show. He did really well after he went home. Yeah for Jerry!!!
 
Biggest Loser

Do you think it's healthy for these super obese contestants to be exercising so vigorously when they are so out of shape? Also is it healthy to lose weight at such a rapid pace? I guess we're always taught that 1 to 2 pounds a week is plenty. Of course their bodies are probably in shock and it will come off quicker. I was just wondering about that though. Glad they are committed and getting healthy, but that much activity and rapid weight loss scares me. Maybe I'm just jealous!
