Hot Moms Jan10

my last post was written over an hour ago..puter froze.
anyway---Melanie- my age is a factor too along with school. I DO think about it though lol.

Squeezed in Turbo Jam 3T for a second workout today.

I'm really sluggish & want a mountain dew & chocolate chip cookie in one of the worst ways imaginable! I'm trying to be strong! I keep thinking of my bulging flabby belly and telling myself, "be strong, you can do this". Urgh. Dieting sucks.

I"m off to drink a smoothie. :) Maybe with a chocolate sugar free vitamuffin? Did you like those, Susan?

whew. week one of insanity done. i have never worked this hard and sweat so much. i know the drills are boing, but my pants are looser!
As for contraception, it is the old pull and pray method. i told my hubby no more nooky until he gets snipped, i am done over here making babies. although i love them and being a mommy, i can not imagine another disease, or the possibility of having to make a hard decision! So, cheers to my two boys!

Ohh pull and pray! Little risky there huh? ;) We used to do that when we weren't really trying but trying. Good job on the pants fitting looser! A pair I wore yesterday to work felt a smidgen looser. Every little bit counts!

No workout last night. I was hoping to get in some weights but DH wanted to run and I wanted to spend time with James while he was awake. I am hoping to get a run in tonight and then do weights this weekend. I have a three day weekend so I plan to take advantage of the time and workout.

We are going tomorrow to talk to the lady that will watch James when DH goes back to work in two weeks. It's a guy's wife that DH works with that will watch him in her home. She only watches two other toddlers which is nice. We only have to pay daily which works out good because DH works two days on/two days off.

Hi to everyone! I'll check back later!

Hello ladies! Crazy Mel squeezed in a 3rd workout last night before I went to bed. I really think I could be one of those fanatical workout ladies if I had more time....I really enjoy it...and I'm so determined to lose this weight. Coach Sean seems to push me like noone else right now...so I'm hanging onto the cardio coach as a staple.

I somehow gained two lbs last week, and it's been hanging on, FINALLY lost one of the two lbs....but it's frustrating. I was feeling so good when it was coming off quickly....now I"m feeling down again. :( Many of my twin forum ladies have lost all their weight already (without diet & exercise)....the ones that nurse are "below their prepregnancy weight". URGH!!!

Christine, great job with Insanity. R U following the program? I might try it again sometime. I was just 3 weeks postpartum & I was nowhere strong enough to do it. I found it incredibly boring too. I think next week I'll try Imax3....have you given it another whirl yet?

Jen, you'll never be sorry for taking the time to be with James! You're doing so good. I hope this childcare situation works out for you....sounds ideal!

mel- i am following the insanity rotation but doing my normal foods... i could not imagine doing it 3 weeks after baby! i agree that it is a bit boring, but as i get stronger it is less monotonous. i think i work harder now, so i am more focused than when i was not as strong. even my hubby has commented on the change in mt body, esp hips and tummy! try it again, you might like it better 2nd time around. i am back doing imax 3. i really love the hardcore extreme dvd that combines the imax3 with kickmax intensity drills. i am also loving cardio fusion. it feels good to have my strength and stamina back. i agree, I would be the crazy workout woman too if my kids would give me a chance! I do insanity while my son eats lunch and watches a dvd on teh computer. it is going to rain for a week, so i will get up at 4 and workout before they get up. grr. i hate morning workouts. as for your question about hte go wear fit. we have them, not a huge fan. i think you already have the motivation and do not need one. I got them last year to get my husband to understand the calorie buring function and to prove to him that he sleeps like crap because he snores (it tells you your sleep efficiency). a regular heart rate monitor is more efficient. we also noticed the calorie burn was not exact, whioch is annoying. (we wear garmin for running, which is extremely accurate and compared the totals, off by a few hundred calories a day).
Wave to all, bbl kiddos need me...

Christine, do you still have your gofitwear? I'm seriously thinking about getting it...maybe we could work out a deal? Just PM me, if you're interested. It'd be good for my DH to get it too....he's packed on well over 50lbs these past couple years. His triglycerides are thru the roof!! He needs to start taking care of himself!!

I just purchased the 10-lb weighted vest to increase my caloric intake during runs & workouts.

I really enjoyed my Garmin....but I sold it shortly after I found out I was pg & dr forbid exercise. I figured I wouldn't need it for a couple years (here in MN outdoor running season is short) & by then maybe something better would be out. lol DH has never been so supportive of my workouts....I've always had to workout with my kids around....maybe he'll let me run solo this spring/summer & I'll have to get another Garmin. lol

I just did 5.5 miles Cardio Coach. I'm going to try to do resistance band work later. The girls tend to sleep well in the middle of the day. :D

I think I'm going to go make some playdoh with Jadon. :D

you girls have been chatty lately,

We are getting ready for dinner. We invited few friends from church and we also have family over, so it will be one of those night you stay up until late...
Daniel is doing much better now. I'm drinking lactaid instaed of regular milk and we got that medicine I talked to you about.
Christine, thanks for all the tips, I need to try those. I want to try Insanity too, I have been doing Barrys BC that I got for $15 at Ross and I lost 2 pounds so it must be working. I think that my body likes the drill-like w/os
I have my 6 week c/u on Moday so no sex for us just yet...

Hi Susan and Jen
Check back later

real quick, bbl...
mel- message me your address and i will send you the go wear fit. i am pretty sure i know where it is... as long as you do not mind it is udes. it helped my hubby a lot. he finally grasped calories and energy in and out. he lost about 25 pound in three months with it.
priscilla- i agree. the drills change the body fast.
mel- one other thing, i gain weight when not getting enough sleep. likely, with the girls being fussy, that is all it is. you will sleep one day and it will melt off. i also find that when i shock my body with a lot of exercise, i plateau and gain or do not lose for a bit, then lose a ton!!!!!! keep your motivation! You are a maniac! Wish i had a treadmill.
Jen- yes, pull and pray is so risky. that is what we have done for 11 years, and now there will be no sex till hubby does something. i cannot handle hormones from pills, they make me a lunatic and just short of crazy.
susan- we need to send you a laptop.

Christine! That is so generous of you!!! Sleep? What is that? The workouts have been giving me nrg to get thru the day. lol LLLLOOOONNNNNNGGGGG days. Also to de-stress from our colicky hours. 6-8 PM....almost every night. It'll be interesting to see how much I'm sleeping with that contraption.

I don't do well with hormones either (oral contraceptives). My ob/gyn thinks i'd be a good candidate for Mirena. We also used withdrawl method for contraception throughout the years. DH has great control. lol

Oh, and I"m ready to lose a ton!!!!! :D :D 20 lbs to be exact!

What is this gofitwear you speak of?? Never heard of it.

Well I got a short two mile run in before James got fussy. DH has to work a security detail so he was trying to lay down. Oh well, it had some sprints and hills from CC1 so at least the intensity was up there. I am so proud of myself because we went to lunch today with the girls in my office cause it was someones birthday. They wanted sushi from this hibachi place and I brought my ww pasta with veggies and pesto and ate that before we left and then ordered an avocado roll. Normally I LOVE the hibachi lunch specials but I refrained. I am pleased with my control. Also someone had brownie bites in the office and I ate one and then realized it didnt even taste good. What a waste!

Melanie you are an animal and you inspire women everywhere! Arent you sore from all these workouts? I agree with Christine, once I started getting more sleep weight fell off. Now I still have these last stubborn 5 lbs.

How long does it take for the flabby belly to go away? Mine's not THAT bad...but its driving me nuts! I want to get some spanx cause my shirts look bad. I also have this spare tire look on the sides! I've been doing alot of plank work to see if that helps.

Priscila-Enjoy your family! It sounds like you guys are close!

Christine- Keep giving the feed back on your thoughts on insanity. I'm thinking of buying it from ebay. 4??? Eww...even I don't think I could get up that early to workout unless I could get a nap later. You are a better woman than I momma!

Lets all pitch in some money for susan's laptop!

We miss you, Susan!!!

Jen, www.bodymedia.com it's the website for the gofitwear thingie. Great job today with lunch. That's tough when your with other people. The flat tire thingie? Kickbox punches are good (as are turbo twists). A diet low in carbs helps flatten/tighten the tummy.

Christine, I'll have to give Insanity a try again when I tire the workouts I"m doing right now. I'm enjoying Cardio Coach & easing into Cathe again. I have some new DVDs I haven't tried yet....Kickbox Surge (Amy Bento)....I'll have to try that this week. Sometimes I'm just not in the mood to try something new. With sleep deprivation it's easier to hop on the elliptical then it is to "learn" a new workout.

I agree that some of this weight may come off...but not twenty lbs. I appreciate all your kinds words, but know in my heart that I have to work HARD to get within 5 lbs of my goal weight. 15 lbs doesn't sound as bad as 20lbs. I have to like what I see when I look in the mirror. And "I" am the only one responsible for that! lol

Girls cried for two hours straight. They're sleeping now. Hopefully the colic is done for the day! I'd like to maybe do a short leisure run later.

Anyone have fun plans for weekend? Justin turns SIX on Sunday. We're making a "big top" cupcake cake for him. We're pretty excited....he saw it on t.v. and HAD to have it. Informercials are so enticing, aren't they? lol

mel- found it. will send this week. just want to get the instructions and stuff together... we have four house guests tomorrow when my hubby gets hme from the wedding.

AWESOME! I'm excited! Thanks Christine!!!!

I didn't do a 2nd workout last night....but am happy to report the scale moved down two lbs this AM. I really needed to see that thing move again!! :D

Amy Bento's hi/low knockout is complete. That is one TOUGH workout. I was dripping with some serious sweat! Slippery wet....the way I like to be. lol

We're making a big top cupcake birthday cake for Justin. Hope it turns out. It's chocolate, with cool whip middle, chocolate frosting w/sprinkles. Should taste like a big hostess cupcake (with any luck). lol I"m going to allow myself to "cheat" and have a piece of it tomorrow. :D

Just finished CC7, 5.5 miles. Last night I walked 4 miles on elliptical machine w/Madalynn in baby bjorn....it worked out so nicely! All my babies have LOVED the bjorn. :D
