Hoppin babies and their hot mommas! 4/4-4/10

Kendra- glad to see you, my name is CHristine by the way!
Mel- I think my body fat is really low. I am awfully lean from all the marathon training, and DH pointed out that I have lost a lot of body fat really fast recently. I highly doubt that I am pg, since I feel super fine. Usually at this point I would be really tired and stuff. I think i will let my body gain a few pounds back and eat more casually and I think that shoudl do it. I still have a lot of pg tests in case ! I am down to my high school weight, which is the last time i got amenhorrea. I was trainign for the boston marathon at that time...
Lisa- You can do it! It will be a hard day, but you will be so glad to come home!
So, every sunday I pack the "bones" of DH lunch and breakfast. I get small serving containers and fill them, so all I have to do is grab them and drop them in the lunch bag the night before. The only fresh thing I make is a sandwich or something. here are some things he gets every day.
Almonds
string cheese
apple
pear
lara bar
yogurt
berries (I cut them up on sunday night for the whole week)
granola
egg/tortilla wraps (make these sunday night for the whole week)
peanut butter and honey sandwich
milk
tortilla with cream cheese, sliced veggies, turkey (make night before)
Flaxseed chips

Morning ladies! I'm back to work. Whew! What a week and weekend! I am so looking forward to starting fresh!

Christine- I figured you would have had AF by now. She came for me yesterday. I told DH about going on BC and he doesn't want me to cause he says I am "normal" now. WTH??? He thinks the hormones make me crazy. Dude, hello...I am already crazy! :p I agree, its probably all your training. You are hardcore! Might do Insanity tonight if I can breathe better by the end of today! Can't wait, its what is fueling me through the day! Flatter abs, here I come!!!!!

Lisa- Don't ever say you created bad habits in your child when all you are doing is loving her! It will easily be reversed and she won't snuggle with you forever. I still rock James to sleep every nap and every night. I won't stop until its physically impossible (30 or 40 years old??) ;) I hope you had a good and easy transition back to work. We sound a lot a like, I freaked out and stressed out the first night before I went back to work and then was so surprised at how easy the transition was. It took me a few weeks to get in the swing of workouts and I still have to adjust my times depending on our schedules. If there is one thing I have learned its to be more flexible in my workout hours just to fit it in. It will work, don't worry. :D

Melanie- I remember all you went through in the beginning of your pregnancy with the twins and how much I prayed and prayed for you. Wow, how far we all have come! Love ya girl! You are such a wonderful lady!

Oh and thanks for the recipe Christine! I printed it out and plan on trying this week. All I need is pancetta I think.

Alright ladies, I have a TON to do at work but don't think I won't be checking in all day! ;)

Posted at same time Christine. ;) Thanks for the snacks, it helps me too. I get sick of bringing the same stuff to work. The wraps are a good idea!

Lisa, have you tried sesame seeds? I have heard they're good to increase milk production as well. You can just eat the seeds alone. I know how hard is going back to work when all I want to do is stay home. It would be more manageable in few days, don't worry.

Christine, so you have been running since high school. No wonder why you're a machine and can log that mileage. I should've started running a long time ago. I sooo want to run or at least jog for 5-6 miles straight. Any suggestions?? I think my main problem is my knees, I don't know if is due to poor stretch or not enough warm up but I feel a dull sensation in my knees when going down the stairs. Should I just give up on running??

Jen, YEAHH for feeling almost back to normal. I hope you can fit some Insanity today

Melanie, hope you have a good and uneventful day at work

Susan, no internet yet? We miss ya

Hi Kendra!

Oh, I am on my 3rd week of Push Phase (CLX) I can't believe I've stuck to this rotation for this long, Love it
BBL

Priscilla- Yes, I have run on and off for a long long time! I used to compete in high school. I raced cross country and did the 2 mile and 3000 meter race in track. I stopped for about four years before I got pregnant with Jimmy, my work schedule was crazy and I had bunion surgery, so had to take it down a notch. If you have iffy knees, it helps to strengthen your tibialis and quads. The tibialis is the muscle on teh front of your shin, you can strengthen it by tapping your foot. By satrengthening the quad, you take some pressure off yoru knees. As well, you may want to see a podiatrist to get orthotics. I was having knee problems, and it was because i pronated so much, after gettign orthotics, my gait straightened and took a lot of pressure off of my knees and hips. And, get good shoes! I always say it is easier to get new shoes than new knees. I really like Saucony. And progress slowly. Too fast and you can get a stress fracture, especially after baby or nursing. Are you runnign on a treadmill or outdoors?

Christine, I've always ran on a treadmil. About 2 years ago I did a 5k outside and my legs were burning. At that time I was living in Colorado and I know the altitude played a role on how tired I felt during the race. I still finished it but I want to be able to run at least a 10k without breaks. Before getting pregnant I was able to run about 3 miles on my treadmil every other day without feeling bad at all. Before I started CLX I tried the Couch to 5k program but I must've been jogging at a faster pace that what I shoul've considering the fact that I was starting from scratch because I was burn off in 3 weeks. Which program would you recommend? I know Runners world have some training schedule but even the beginner one assumes that you are able to run 2 miles straight.
Ah, what is orthotics??

orthotics are inserts for your shoes that are made after taking a mold of your feet. they are hard, not squishy and they have helped me so much. do you have a running store like Fleet Feet near you? a lot of running stores have running groups you can join, and there are pace groups so that you can run with people like you and they help you get to a goal. also, www.active.com has great articles. i will find one and post for you. btw, treadmills hurt my knees! running outside is more difficult, but pavement is easier for some! a local track at a high school would be great, you get a great surface on most...

I was always the opposite. I ran outdoors and had stress fractures. We bought our treadmill and I bought good shoes and have felt great ever since! Priscila- I had problems with my knees when my hamstrings were too tight and before Cathe and weight work. I notice that I don't have much problems running anymore as long as I stretch my hamstrings REAL good and do leg work during the week. I stretch after every single workout whether its weights or cardio. If you go to Fleet Feet or one of those stores, they record you running on a treadmill and will fit your feet to your pronation (whether your ankles roll inward or outward). Shoes might be more expensive but worth it if you are serious.

Jen is right. I should have clarified. It also depends on your treadmill! I had a cheap one, so it did not offer stability and support. So, I should have clarified that. Strengthening the quads, hammies, and tibialis really help. Once I started lifting more, I saw my runnign improve a lot. And those darn abs! Strong abs and back will also relieve you a lot.

Christine is right too about back/abs. I am having some back issues with running cause I need to strengthen that area. We have a Track Shack and Front Runners also in our area.

:eek::eek::eek::eek: Holy Macaroni! :eek::eek::eek::eek:

I AB.SO.LUTE.LY LOVED INSANITY! The rush of endorphins that I felt after just the warm up almost brought me to tears!!!! It was so hard and so good at the exact same time! I totally sucked and totally rocked it! I could see arm and ab muscles poppin that are just DYING to be seen! I don't know if I needed kegals or not because I was one wet mess!

So there's my review....off to eat and drink a beer. I deserve it. Enough said. :p

I am so so so so so so so so happy you love it. I knew you would. I get tingly and jealous when DH does it while I cook, I want to jump in and do suicides! It gets better nad better! You will feel like a million bucks! Which one did you do? I am really excited that you love it. It has changed my fitness to a level that I have never had, AFTER TWO BABIES!! Woo hoo! He gives good form advice, adn I love that everyone doing it is struggling too! Wait till you get to diamond jumps! Let's do one together tomorrow or wed. What do you think?:D

Tomorrow is leg day (STS) so I will do cardio Wed. You pick. I did plyometric cardio circuit today. Can't wait to see how sore I feel tomorrow!

I do too. I love Insanity. I did the Plyo cardio circuit today and loved it. I can believe how much I sweat during the stretch. I yet have to try the Cardio abs but I think I'll do it tomorrow. BTW Thanks for the recommendations. I may try the Couch to 5k again. My treadmil is really sturdy and it has an incline that goes up to 15. I think my problem is due to my knees and maybe a muscle imbalance. I am going to incorporate more floor work to strenghten my hams, quads and glutes.
Off to have dinner

Oh, do you guys feel super drained after Insanity?? i do feel the endorphin rush right after and during the workouts but after taking a shower, I am sooo tired. All worthy though!

ah...stop all the Insanity talk! :) I did my 2nd Insanity workout recently--Cardio Abs. Loved itbut I sucked at a lot of it. This is such a busy week that I may only get in 3 or 4 days of workouts this week. I'm exhausted, so I'll keep this short. I only worked 1/2 day, as we drove a couple hours away to look at and buy a minivan...that process tkes forever. Just wanted to say hi and comment on Inanity.

I somehow managed to get NINE hours of sleep yesetereday....so felt amazing today.

Christine, it'd be interesting to see what your body fat percentage is. I'm disguisted at mine, and have never been in range low enough to be amenorrhea-ic. In high school I was 115lbs....which is nothing on my 5'7" frame. I wonder what my body fat was then? At 131lbs I'm still at 26.5% body fat. The more I think about my weight, the more I think that maybe I should be lighter? Maybe closer to 120-125s? I know that sounds light...but I want my body fat to be in a healthy range. I'd be happy with 20% body fat...

Jen and company, I'm glad you like Inssanity. I haven't tried it since 3 weeks postpartum. I was nuts to try it so close to delivering the girls (and being on bedrest for so long). I HATED it then. I don't like drilly type moves. I kept the workouts though b/c I thought I might want to try it again someday. Ya'll keep talking it up!

RevAb reviews! RevAb reviews! How long are the workouts?

Lisa, what kind of minivan did you get? We have a Sienna which I love! I think we might need to get a Suburban or something wider in future though!

I have next two days off. :)

Okay, so love insanity, so happy you all do too. I really like Shaun t. So, may be too much, but I am doing max circuit tomorrow if anyone wants to join. Wednesday is max cardio , chalean and cardio abs.
HAd bloodwork done and not pg. Just low fat. Phew!!!!!!
Mel - how was work?
Lisa- first day back and a minivan? Tell me more. How excited were you when you saw Caden and Reese? I will pm you on fb with discs ideas and go from there.
Priscilla- will get you a workout plan forrunning. Are you in dallas? I forget! My parents live there. What shoes do you run in and are you using separate pair for aerobic? That could also affect your knees. Lateral moves need different stability. I use saucing to run and eyka indoors.
Hi allison and Susan, miss you.
Operation almost complete. :)
