HOOKY DAY!!!!!

Aquajock

Cathlete
As I write this I'm still in my pajamas, having bundled off DH to work and looking forward to a day COMPLETELY to myself.

This is how big a geek I am:

A.M. workout:
KPC warm-up and high intensity drills
SJP hi/lo addon premix
Cardio Kicks power drills
Lite leg barbell work
Core Max med ball routine
Lite upper body

Eat and watch TV

Take a walk

Options for afternoon:

Watch "The Station Agent" again on DVD for about the 10th time (that Peter Dinklage always gets me hot!); OR

Make a new music tape for my aqua class; OR

Make a new music tape for my solo aqua jogging sessions; OR

Take a nap.

Ah - Fridays rock when you have 'em strictly to yourself!

Have fun, my beloved Cathe-ites!

A-Jock

I've been on spring break this week so I've enjoyed a few "HOOKEY DAYS" myself this week. I've enjoyed working out at my leisure instead of rushing home after work and trying to fit it in before dinner or having to wait until a couple of hours after dinner. I stayed in my pj's all day yesterday and read a book. I rearranged a little bit when the mood hit me and had all my windows open. I only got dressed to work out then I immediately took a nice, long, hot shower and put on fresh pj's! Enjoy your day!!!

Sounds like a great day for you. I work 4-10's with Fridays off so I'm with you. Usually my workout is at 3:00 a.m. but today I will watch Cathe do Step Blast on FitTV at 6:00 to see what that's like and then do my new Muscle Max DVD for the first time. Really love my Fridays!!

Have a little house cleaning to do and this afternoon have a massage scheduled (I won it in a drawing at our bicycle club meeting).

You're right, Fridays alone rock!!

Sounds like a great day to me....:)...I rarely get a friday off....so A-Jock....Have an outstanding one for all of us....:)...Carole

Alone. I am so jealous. But on the bright side, Monday my kids go back to school! We just got the capablility to record our digital cable with the box so I need never clench my jaw when conceding th televison and I am doing a 2 hour 2-3 yoga class at noon. It's 2 hours!

Enjoy your Hooky Day! Being a geek is a fantastic thing in and of itself but when you are a bald, fitness goddess with a day to herself...
Can it get any better? I have to google Peter Dinklage. My curisoity is piqued. Enjoy!

Edited to say: A-Jock, you have very eclectic taste when it comes to men. Peter Dinklage is adorable, yes, but so very different from the fellow who played Jesus. I cannot recall his name. I also cannot get the hots for ? since, well, he played Jesus, and that's just wrong, somehow. Who else makes your list? :)

Wow, Ajock....I am playing hooky today too! But I wasn't feeling well yesterday so we'll see if mine ends up being active as yours! But the eating and watching TV part sounds good!!!:) Have fun!

A-Jock,
That sounds like a really nice day planned. I love my alone days too! Sounds like we are going to have nice weather here in Minnesota this weekend. I plan to get out on my bike! Have a great day!

Ah, Bobbi - I'll try to keep this CLEAN when I list out A-Jock's Fave Hotties:

You mentioned the actor who played Jesus in "The Passion Of The Christ" - JAMES CAVIEZEL, who is indeed warm to the eye. He's an interesting man: a devout Roman Catholic who refuses to do even the most clothes-on-wide-shot love scenes because those conflict with his personal beliefs, especially his fidelity to his wife. He was in "Frequency", a very good movie that didn't get that much box office, with another of A-Jock's Faves: Dennis Quaid. Caviezel's also been in a so-so remake of "The Man In The Iron Mask" with Guy Pearce.

SAM WATERSTON: I've had the hots for him since before I knew what the hots even were; first latched onto him back in 1973 when he co-starred with Katherine Hepburn in a wonderful television production of "The Glass Menagerie". A stud with a brain.

WILLIAM FICHTNER: A character actor who's been in supporting roles in such movies as "Armageddon" and "The Perfect Storm", and a ton of other movies. The guy is about 50 or 51 and looks a good 15-20 years younger, built like a linebacker. Man O'Muscle, with blond hair and a just a slight bit of an overbite that drives me nuts.

Those are my faves. I really don't cotton to the candy-faces that are getting all the high-paying vehicle roles these days in movies or TV. What the male acting population should take away from that is:

Pray that A-Jock DOESN'T like you. It'll be murder on your ability to command a star's salary.

James Caviezl is a beautiful man and admirable too. I never knew his bio and had only seen him in trailers for that dorky-looking Jennifer Lopez film, Angel Eyes. He does have angel eyes and an angelic heart as well it seems. ;) I had to google William Fichtner also. I know him and I think I like him too. I am going to have to checkHe looks real. Two huge thumbs up on Dennis Quaid and Sam Waterston. I love Quaids' face, the way it crinkles when he smiles and never knew how much I liked Law and Order until I got hooked on TNT. McCoy is so cool! When my kids are at school, I keep TNT on and often get sucked into Law and Order. Guy Pearce is hunky but I never see too many movies so I miss alot. I saw Momento but it was so bizarre, I have no idea if I liked it or not. I was surprised to discover he is an Aussie.

I have to confess I love Keanu Reeves, puppet-like or no. The Matrix is so awesome I may forgive the brothers Wachowski for stinking up the Sci Fi Fantasy genre with Reloaded and Revolutions. Oh, they were fun but they could have created a mythology I could have loved and they didn't. Morons. :)

This reminds me I have a question for you about film featuring William H. Macy. He works in a Vegas casino. You had mentioned it in a thread and I saw him on Inside The Actor's Studio many moons ago and he named it but the name of the film eludes me. Do you know which one I am talking about? We signed up for unlimited rentals at Blockbuster and if I don't get my rear in gear, it's gonna be costing me money! TIA.

And I WAS right. You DO have eclectic taste in men.

I'm also off today (Personal Day)....yay!! However, I'm not doing all of the workouts you are. I did my Kickmax this morning and I'm going to a movie with the husband. Then I'm gonna come home and pack my travel bag in anticipation of my upcoming Vegas Vacation. Maybe I'll have to work in some more exercise later after seeing your schedule!

Have a great day!

I am off work today also. Slept in, ate breakfast, have been online for about 2 hours and feel like a total bum!!! Signing off soon to start some light housework and then lunch and then workout. only planning to leave the house to get the mail!!!

Our office is actually CLOSED today!! Awesome! I slept till noon and now I've been sipping coffee for the last hour and a half. What a great, slow, lazy day. I'm in heaven.

Hi, Bobbi -

"The Cooler". That was one awesome movie. Macy starred as a loser who "cools" hot tables at a seedy Las Vegas casino (maybe "seedy Las Vegas casino" is a tautology), and is looking forward, within six days, to getting out of this racket after having paid his loser debt to Alec Baldwin (in one of Baldwin's best of many good roles). Macy meets a tired casino girl, they hook up and . . . Macy stops being a loser. Great, great movie with an intimate, indie, friendly to the thinking movie-goer feel to it.

Another indie goodie to suggest to you: "Who Is Cletus Tout?" Christian Slater plays a hapless guy who's in trouble and makes the huge mistake of taking on the identity of Cletus Tout - needless to say, Cletus Tout is in more trouble than Slater could ever be. Slater is pursued by a hit man named Critical Jim, played by Tim Allen in his only tolerable role aside from Buzz Lightyear. Critical Jim's sideline, when he's not bumping people off, is movie critiquing. Another good one.

Well now. Let it never be said I didn't help Bobbi maximize her movie-rental powers.

Sounds like a great day. gotta LOVE those hooky days. Had the week off and the best part is exercising when I feel like instead of 5 am! Aquajock, your day sounds like one intense work out! Mine includes shopping with my DD and a friend--which includes an espresso to keep me going!

Hot guys: Keiffer Sutherland (don't know if I want my DH to see this...we always watch 24 together!) and Viggo Mortgensun (spelling???) oh yeah, and Nicolas Cage.

I can tell who doesn't have kids!;-) My day consisted of too many crafts (put away from Christmas, mind you) and egg dying. I actually was able to squeeze in Imax 3 with C&W weights only premix and abs. Done in 1 hour.:7 Enjoy you childless people!! I'm making whole made pizza. Why I just don't order it I'll never know!

And I do appreciate it because, you know, it's just not possible to rent twice as many the following month. Oh no, they must be watched in the current month or it does not count. I rented The Cooler. No wonder I couldn't find it, a single copy in the midst of all those other movies with hundreds of copies. And he's mustachioed.

Who Is Cletus Tout? they don't carry so I got Maria Full of Grace. Who knows, maybe Cletus will show on Starz and I can record it on the DVR. The DH informed how thrilled he was with that just this morning. I can't tell you what the D in DH stands for today because it is not nice. That extra ten bucks a month could put us in the poor house. I hooked it up myself and if it doesn't bother me that we now watch TV through the VCR setting on his ridiculous surround sound why should it bother him? I can't wait until Sunday when he sets out to fix it and discovers what I inadvertantly unhooked to have my DVR capabilities.

Come to think of it the only reason I ever got the Unlimited at Blockbuster was the late fees and since I don't rent much, they weren't mine. I'd drop off a late movie and he'd decide it was a good night to wander for a rental and he'd have to pay it before he could rent. It would have been funny but I don't like being raked over the coals for late fees I didn't incur. I just spent $7.00 bucks for a gallon organic milk I don't drink and he can't tolerate. My second husband is not going to be a critical, cranky man with delsuions of his own thriftiness and he's going to look like James Caviezel.

And I thank you because I get to hang with William Macy tonight while husband toils to keep me in the manner to which I have become accustomed. On Monday, I have a feeling I am going to be calling him my @#$#@ H so I am going to enjoy tonight. }(

Because homemade is so much better! Imax 3, CW premix and abs in 1 hour? Sounds like a great mix. BTW: I'm just a bit of a procrastinator. . .will buy the Easter candy tomorrow!

I got mine today and there was plenty, Lala. I am sick of these holidays and all the consumption. Halloween, Christmas, Valentines Day and now Easter. But particularly Christmas and Easter. My husband is Jewish and that'll be another bone of contention between us! ROFL!
