honeycrisp apples are back!

Thay are!!! I had two today and they were delicious! I'll only eat apples this time of year (from local orchards) so I get my fill of them for the next few months and then wait for September again. You're right - too bad we can't freeze them!:p
Pomegranates are the next thing coming up on my list that I wait for all year!

our store doesn't have them yet! WAH!!!!!

these are my absolute favorite! I could eat them by the bagful!

yummy!!! I just love the apples...I take the core out and stuff some natural peanut butter and crunch on the way to work :D Can't wait until they make it to Iowa!!!

Do they sell these in PA??? I've heard a lot about them on here, but I've never actually seen one. I heard they have another one coming out this year that is supposed to be even better. It's a cross between honeycrisp and something else. I can't remember the name though.

Amber Liann - I live in PA (western) and they do have them here. I get them from an orchard, but I've seen them in the stores too. And I remember reading something on hungry girl's website about a honeycrisp hybrid mix or something - it's supposed to taste like a sweet tart I think?? I can't remember the name either, but I'll try to find out.

I just bought some. I'd never had them before, and thought they sounded good. I was expecting them to be 'honey-sweet' and they were more tart than I usually like. I prefer the Braeburn's I also bought.

apple and peanut butter sounds good. is there a way to keep apples from getting brown if their cut and then fridged?

YOu can rub lemon juice (or pineapple juice) on them, or dip them in a mix of citric acid (found in health food stores) or powdered vitamin C and water. I've also heard that salt water will work as well.

Checked the produce section of the local grocery today and was told NO Honeycrisp here. She said it would be about 2 to 3 more weeks. :(

Shockingly, the only place I can find them here is at Whole Foods! They are so delicious! They are my favorite as well!:D

My store had them on sale for $1.49/pound this week, so I bought a bunch and will go back for more later this week. I love them!
