Holiday Baking

I don't bake but I heartily accept handouts. :D

If I remember correctly, a few years back I did in fact ship a box of cookies half way across the country to a "forum friend" at Christmas. This year my box includes oatmeal chocolate chip, chocolate chocolate chip, white choc. maca. nut, peanut butter temptations, chewy coconut cookies, and wedding cookies. Let me know if you are interested;)

<-------- runs into thread wildly waving both hands/arms above head yelling "im interested, im interested!!!!"
:D:D:D:D:D:D

Kate, you and I BOTH know that you will not eat cookies if I send them to you! It's a miracle if you eat ONE cookie!

lol, katie!!!!

but i would eat YOURS! esp. the white chunk macadamias! those are my absolute favorite cookies ever but i dont make them because mike wont eat them. he hates nuts. i would end up eating all of them myself!

I am doing my usual "requests" from my DS and DH,

White Macadamia Nut Blondies
Peanut Butter Blossoms
Lemon Bars
Brownie surprise cookies
I am adding a candy cane cookie and monster cookie recipes that I just got from the Food Network this weekend!

I originally stayed out of this thread because I bake with full fat and twice the sugar, which is of no help to the original poster.

I am thrilled to see so many bakers on the forum though. I make the usual family Christmas cookies ~ chocolate chip, butter, almond crescents, snowballs (which are like crescents with a Hershey Kiss inside).

The one cookie I never understood, but is wildly popular with my family, is the Pink Iceberg. Has anyone ever heard of this? The base is a basic, round butter cookie, and it is topped with a mixture of raspberry jam/finely ground nuts, which is then drizzled with pink icing.

I have no clue where this cookie started. All I know is that my grandmother made it every Christmas.

Lisa, good luck with your hunt for a decent sugar substitute! :)
