Higher wts for Legs and Glutes

Hey!
Do you guys use much higher wts for legs and glutes? Why do they go so light? I know those hardcore girls can go much higher. I am usually using at least double what they use.

WOW! I'm impressed! I'm thankful that they use such light weights with this workout. I think that the exercises themselves are so intense that if you focus on form the weights really don't need to be that high.

Just for my information... what parts of the video are you using higher weights on? I find the inner thigh/plie squats sequence to be VERY intense - it always leaves me with a good burn. I think that elevating my weight would kill me!

I think they use light weights too and I wondered why. 10 pound dumbbells for plies and 8 pound dumbbells for lunges? I don't get it either. Maybe because by the time they make it to slow motion lunges, any weight is difficult????

Hi!
I use double the wt ( at least) for the step ups, lunges, plie and reg squats basically for everything except for when they use the leg wts then I use 2.5 lbs too.

Are you trying to build mass on your legs. Personally I don't want to bulk up on my lower body.

I've gotten great results from L&G.

Many of us were trying Freestyle rotations at the time this came out. Freestyle leg training calls for more reps, lighter weights, so this is just what the doctor ordered. Also, since many of us rotate heavy weight training with lighter weights, this leg workout fits in very well.

I will usually go a little heavier than Cathe when using L&G.

I noticed that you're a charter member so please let me pick your brain a moment here. I have been seriously weight training for over a year now and I am getting some great definition in my ub. My lower body is much smaller (from 45" hips to 38.5) but I still want more definition in my legs and I want them slender. My thighs are still 22.5-23". should I be using lighter weights because I ALWAYS try to go as heavy as I can? Also will doing things like the leg drills at the end of kickmax help to lean out my legs or build mass? I definitely do not want to build mass. I am trying to lose those last 10 lbs.
