High Step Training is a new method of fitness training, invented by Cathe, that combines step aerobics, weight training and core training, into one non-stop intense exercise program. The program utilizes a small 12inch to 14 inch high step called the High Step. The High Step is manufactured and sold by the same company that introduced step aerobics to the world nearly 15 years ago – The Step Company. Cathe has just finished filming the first two High Step workouts (one for beginners/intermediate exercisers and one for advanced exercisers.) As we get ready to release High Step Training to the public, and soon to health clubs, we thought we would begin our story by telling you a little bit about Cathe’s new High Step Beginner/ Intermediate workout.
We have just posted 15 new pictures from the High Step - Beginner / Intermediate workout ( http://www.cathe.com/2004_Pictures_High_Step_Beginner.htm ). Cathe will go into the details of this workout tomorrow, but many of you will be surprised by just how tough this workout is. Though this exercise program is by no means as intense as Cathe’s new High Step Advanced workout, we think it is harder than many of you are expecting. This workout uses 3lb hand weights and rubber exercise bands as well as a 12 inch High Step. A 55cm stability ball is used for ab work. The workout is simple to learn and a great boredom fighter since you never stay on any one thing for very long. Though Cathe usually prefers weights to bands, she has carefully chosen exercises where bands work best and are in some cases are preferable to weights.
