I've never used one of her videos, but would like to get one soon. I already run 3.4 miles 2 - 3 times a week and strength train 1 - 2 times a week. I don't want to start out to hard. Can you recommend a good starter video?

Thanks!

Basic Step + Body Fusion might be good. Check out the DVD's and you can even watch some video clips of each workout.
Welcome!

Hight step circuit and basic step and body fusion are great for you.If you usually do cardio you can try the ctx series and the BB series too.SB and SJP has easy step coreography and the music is fantastic. You can do the old cathe as step fit etc.Welcome.

Thanks, but can you tell me what "SB" and "SJP" stand for?

Thanks!

Not Mariangeles but SB means Step Blast (just Step Aerobics) and SJP means Step Jump and Pump (step, then hi/lo and weights circuit) - these are two of Cathe's workouts that come on one DVD together (which makes it easy to mix and match sections). They are not too tough but are a lot of fun-you may want to check out the video clips and the descriptions)-they helped me pick workouts to fit my particular needs. Heck, now I realize I NEED all the Cathe workouts and soon you will too.;-)

I know it takes getting used to all the abreviations used on these forums but don't worry-I'm still learning some of the lingo :)

Welcome to the boards-Cathe is so addicting!:)

Hope this helps,
Wendy

Hi, welcome to the boards:) As others have suggested, High Step Circuit and Basic Step/Body Fusion would be great to start off with. Just a warning though, Cathe is incredibly addicting;-) and very soon you will want the entire collection}( You won't be able to stop yourself!! Again, welcome!

Thanks for making me feel part of the "group!" I can see how devoted everyone is, and I'm excited to be entering into this kind of "sisterhood in fitness."

If you run that much already, I wouldn't worry about starting too hard. Personally, I think running is much harder than any Cathe tape I've done. I'd suggest something with pretty easy choreography - maybe one of the Imax. But, then again - the more complicated the steps, the more fun you'll have.

Welcome! I think you would be able to tackle any of her Intensity or Body Blast series based up the information you have given. Better dip your credit card in water, though, it is going to start smokin'!!!! You will be hooked!

Hi CrystalIda,

It sounds like you have a pretty good fitness program going at this time. I don't know how long you have been at it but it dosn't seem like you are a beginner. If that is the case, I don't know that I would recommend the beginner workout (well, maybe if you never stepped before). I think it is a nice workout but may not give you what you need in terms of a cardio challenge. Are you looking to cross train cardio, add to strength training or both? Are you new to stepping? Do you want to try kickboxing or floor aerobics? There are alot of choices. If you are starting out and don't want to make a big investment, it would be good to know more in order to coose one or two workouts. Of course you may eventually buy all of them.

Welcome aboard,
jordan
