Hi Cathe- wish me luck!

Cathlete
Dear CAthe-

Mostly a lurker here but I just wanted to post (and make ir real) that I have decided to make some changes in my life. As of tomorrow, I am going to start taking care of myself which includes losing weight (I am currently 220 lbs since the birth of my third child), exercising again (I used to be in good shape- could do your workouts and take classes at the gym- can't really do anything anymore), taking care of my hair and wearing makeup again and buying some new clothes that aren't sweats or baggy clothes.

I thank you for your inspiration and plan to look and feel better at 40 (coming up in May) than I have for years. Any advice, by anyone especially Cathe, would be greatly appreciated. I know it is going to be a long journey, not an overnight fix.

Thank you Cathe for all you wonderful workouts and I can't wait to start really using them again!

Take care-
Jean

Jean,

I wish you all the best. The desire, motivation and dedication to achieve your goals! You can do it!

Also, I wanted to ask when your birthday is? I also turn 40 in May on the 2nd.

Linda

Thanks everyone for all the support. I'm feeling excited, determined and a little nervous today!

Shewolf- my birthday is on the 8th- we can toast each other!

Thanks-
Jean

Good luck to you, Jean!! Remember, too, that the forums are a great place to get support as you continue with your journey!:)

My 40th is May 8th as well . . . best of luck to you on your journey - remember to take it one day at a time. I'm actually dreading #40 a bit, but plan on being the healthiest, fittest 40 I can be!

I turn 40 next month, and also have 3 kids. Good luck to you Jean...you can do it!

I think the thing that has helped me the most is reminding myself that I am making changes to last me the rest of my life, not just a quick fix. And if I "mess up" or get lazy for a couple of days or even a week or two, I try not to beat myself up, but just get back on the wagon again. Buying new makeup and some new clothes also helped inspire me to take better care of myself. Two and a half years later, I'm still at it.

Best of luck to you!

Wow-thanks to all who have given me support and encouragement. I think I need to realize that no fad diet is going to work nor is any magic pill. I just need to eat sensibly, exercise and try to do my best.

I am so thankful to hear from all of you and glad to see that there are lots of almost 40's feeling good and being fit!

I'll keep everyone posted! Thanks-
Jean
