Hey, is Interval Max going to kill me???

I have been a Cathe user for awhile, mostly strength tapes(PH and MIS, and just recently PS)....I was born with 2 left feet, so tricky moves are not real good for me....but the blurb about the video called it "straight-forward". Then I read that somewhere that it was one of her toughest tapes. Now I am scared to even preview it. Just how bad is it? The only other Cathe step tape I have is Step Jam, which I really like, but I just need more variety. Thanks! Donna.

Hi Donna,
I can't say that the video will kill you because I am still here but when you are doing it you may think that you are about to drop any minute.
The tape is pretty basic.None of the moves are hard to get but it is very intense but she shows you modifications that you can use.It is a great tape if you are ready to take your endurance to the next level or to help you lose weight.
Don't worry you won't have to kiss your family members good-bye before you press the play button.
Order it...and good luck...
Lori

Imax was my SECOND step tape back in 2000, and my FIRST was Intense Moves. Not a really smart thing to do, I realize now (I should have gotten a little easier step tape to begin with). BUT, I did it all the way through, AND I was 50 years old at the time.

Obviously it did not kill me, since I'm now rapidly approaching 53 and still going strong.

Hi Donna :)

Another Donna here! And I can also vouch that Imax will not kill you, it may take you close, but you'll survive. I do Imax once/week every week, trying to get through it modification free, and I can tell you that in the past 6-8 weeks of doing it consistently like this, I've gone from modifying on 4 intervals, to only having to modify the last one, #10 where they do these sadistic (for 179lb woman) tuck jumps, plus my aerobic endurance has doubled. Videos that use to "take it all out of me" are now so much more doable and enjoyable and it's because Imax has enabled me to increase my endurance and cardio capacity.
It is a wonderful tape for many reasons, and it really is fun once you get the footwork down.

Donna

p.s. I consider myself choreo challenged, but I believe I got all the foot patterns down on Imax by the 3rd time I did it.

You will really love this work out. It is very challenging which is what I love. I've had this one for about 3 years and it took me some time to get through the whole work out but once I did I felt so great.

Thanks everybody! Maybe I made the right decision after all! I think you all must know who hard it is to choose one of Cathe's videos.....I want them all! It is nice to know that I do not need the will ready. Thanks again, have a great week! Donna.

This video is the best one yet I think of hers. I wish she would produce another one like it. It is a great feeling when you finish it and even better when you advance from it. I do it at 10 inches now, and really see a difference in my butt!! :-wow
Think thats crazy, yes...yes it is...but what a challenge. I took me 6 months to master this one, and I hope no one out there will give up on it!! Please Cathe make another!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good
Luck!

Hey Patty...your message was the most encouraging yet...now I can't wait to get it! Ten inches though amazes me!! Since I an a vertically challenged person(only 4ft. 11) I would consider that impossible since I am afraid of heights....hee hee. Thanks for all the encouaging words! Donna.

Donna, if it does kill you...

It's a wonderful way to die;-).

Seriously, I have to say a big ditto on Patty's comments of how you feel doing the workout and growing towards finishing it and the level it brings you to when you get there. It's not only a tape that makes you physically stronger..but it's a wonderful mental motivator too.

If you do the intervals the way Cathe does, this is one of her toughest tapes. I think the intervals with hi/lo are tougher than the step intervals, but can easily be modified by using the first level that Cathe shows, which is low impact. The choreography is very basic and easy to follow. I find this tape a little easier than Gin Miller's Intense Moves because there is a longer recovery period.

I love Interval Max. Even though I am still modifying at least 4 of the intervals, three things stand out about this workout.

One- Cathe's form is impeccable during all the intervals. That means that once I master doing them all without modifications, I still will have Cathe's top form to strive for. That makes this a tape I will use for a long long time.
Two- Cathe tells us some time in the secong half, when I personally am feeling wimpy and tired, like I'll never measure up, she says some words sort of like "You're here and that's all that matters. Stand up straight because you look so good," and the actual thing that she says and the way she says it is so encouraging it brings tears to my eyes.
Three- the way I feel the whole day after (I'm an a.m. exerciser) cannot be beat. I feel like I have wings all day.

Okay, ladies, it did not kill me, but I must say I could only do the first couple of intervals, so I must tip my weight bench to all of you!!! But, you all were right, the footwork is easy...but the workout is gosh darn HARD!! And Cathe always stays in such top form! What a motivator that all by itself is!! You are right Connie, I will be doing this tape a long, long time. I just love her...it always feels like she is your own personal trainer, and she's right in your living room. Thanks again for all your help....someday I'll get through it all! Donna.
