help!

where can I find how to figure out how many calories I need to burn to lose weight? I average 1300-1500/day, BMI is 22 weight is 132 height 5"5". would like to loose about 10-12 lbs. it is collecting around the middle. Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!! Kay
 
I've also heard that a simply way that approximates the answer most other equations give you is:

current weight x 10 = calories to lose weight

current weight x 12 = maintainence

current weight x 14 = to gain
 
That can't be right can it? That means I'm only supposed to eat 1400 calories a day? I'll fall asleep on the stability ball.

No wonder I can't lose these last 20lbs.
 
Who knows what's right, lol! I just saw those calculations on some body building website before and thought I'd pass them along.
