Help ! My Husband will not get up in the mornings !!

Not sure I get it. My DH and I are both not morning people. We both stay up late fighting over the remote and oversleep our alarms. We're still responsible, mature adults who take care of our responsibilities; we just do it a little later in the day is all. It's hard to fight your biological clock. Sometimes I wish I had married a morning person. Then he'd be out of the shower by the time I need to go in.

RE: Help ! My Husband will not get up in the mornings ...

I have tried to be a morning person. I have tried to go to bed at a "decent" hour.

There have been times that I have enjoyed getting up at the crack of dawn....but in all honesty, I am at my peak in the early evening. That is why I have always preferred a 3-11 shift. I have been this way all of my life. I actually have my best, most restful sleep around 3-6 am. Generally, I will toss about any earlier than that.

If you do a search on Circadian Rhythms, you can learn a lot and maybe alleviate some of your feelings about this.

Nancy,

If the plumbing in your house is like ours, just flush the toilet once or twice, that will usually get a person out of the shower.

I don't believe how mean I can get.

Maybe you resent that you have to get up so early to workout, kids, etc... and with getting up so early, i assume you have to go to bed early, so perhaps thats it.
I too am an evening person. Around 8-10pm i wake up!!!! Mad, but i'm an evening person, probably like your husband.

LOL!!! I grew up in a house like that where you couldn't flush while someone was taking a shower!

When I moved into the house I'm in now, I was dumb-founded to find out that this was NOT the case! :D DH and I can have a flushing party while the other is in the shower and no one will ever get burned!:7

So now when we want to be "mean" to eachother we just throw a glass of cold water over the shower curtain on to the other's head! }( :p

<Maybe you should just tuck the covers under his chin and give him a kiss before you leave in the morning!>

Michele,
i love reading things like this...it makes me want to go to my man's office and give him a big kiss...i always give him a few kisses before i leave for work (while he is still in bed), but now i want to give him another one....

Same here, Wendy. I grew up in a house like that. Now that we live in an apartment, it doesn't work anymore. I have to find other ways to annoy him. }(

My hubby is a night owl and I'm a morning person too.

:)

It doesn't bother me.

I agree with iclkemoley. My DH travels a lot for his job. Sometimes I get upset (even thought he's not there) because I feel he's got it so easy. His day ends between 3-5pm, goes to a gym...sits in a sauna, whirlpool...goes out to dinner.. can stay up to watch movie, or just do whatever HE wants, while I'M home doing all the work! I am either partly jealous or angry of both. I get over it fast, because I personally would hate to be away from my son/family.
