My Cathe collection so far consists of cardio and circuit training. I would like to get a weight lifting DVD...any suggestions? I keep reading and re-reading the video descriptions and they all look too fantastic to choose..help:)
THANK YOU :)

I personally love supersets/push and pull dvd. My recommendation would be that dvd. It has 2 weighted workouts on the dvd. They are about 45 minutes long each one and the time flys for me. I never feel like its 45 minutes long, I have fun even though I am not a fan of weightlifting.

Those are both fun, but I don't think they have as good of form pointers as her older tapes. Also the workouts move so quickly you have to constantly pause the DVD and catch your breath and change up equipment. If you are new to lifting, I think the instruction given on the Pure Strength is outstanding to avoid injury as you start. It is a solid, time tested, thourough workout that is very well rounded. Also, it has nice rest periods in between sets and shorter reps, that, for me at least, help prevent severe muscle soreness. And it gives me better results than other tapes with a lot less pain! Another thing I like is that you can shorten it up by just doing one or two exercises per body part, or less sets. So it is very versatile. And the Pure Strength legs is still the gold standard for me-although Legs and Glutes is definitely a runner up.

I have BC/ME dvd. I personally do not care for a full hour weight workout, simply because I love my cardio, with weights as an add on. But I do like the premixes, because you can make your workout shorter. I really love the Bonus Combo workout. It's just enough for me. The ME ab section is really tough. After seeing most of Cathe's weight workouts on Fit TV. I think ME is the best total body, IMHO anyways. Most of the weight workouts tend be be the same type of thing, so I don't feel I am missing out.

I second Pure Strength however, if you are more interested in a total body workout, I would suggest the PH/MIS/BM DVD. This way you will get an endurance(PH), strength(MIS) and cardio/strength(BM) workout all on one dvd. Although MIS & BM are more endurance based than PS, someone new to lifting will definitely see strength gains using these. Good luck.

Thank you Ladies..I still could not decide so I decided to get them both PS and Pyramids:) DH is going to come home to one lean mean chick;-)

You will have fun! And with the PS upper body part tapes you can do 30-40 minutes of cardio easily before or after to get your cardio fix. Also I get great results just doing one body part per week with the PS series.

Get PS first, then Pyramids, then S&H. Later on you can add PH, MIS, ME, CTX-UB split/Leaner Legs (why not get the entire CTX series?), and the weight workouts in the BB series. PS is still my all-time fave.

I vote for the Pure Strength series. I've gotten all her latest and this set is still one of the most difficult for me. The pyramid set is next, though I much prefer Upper body to lower - I only do lower once in a while, alternating with her other lower body tapes (Meaner Legs, PS legs, Legs and Glutes).

I agree with Pinky. Start with PS. It is one of the few workouts that made it to the Hall of Fame on videofitness. I started with it and have been going strong ever since. The form pointers are second to none. Also, it's not too fast and not too slow. It's right in the middle, so you can do rotations for several months at a time without getting bored. You can branch out into heavier weighted workouts and endurance workouts later, once you're hooked. And PS WILL hook you!
