I am an Insanity virgin now more!!!! Mama Mia!!! THAT was the warm-up??!?!?!?!:eek::eek: For the love of all that is holy this workout is truly INSANE!!!:eek: Here I thought I was in pretty darned good cardio shape but this has taken it to antirely new level!! I had to stretch off and on through the "warm up" to losen up my screaming calf muscles.

No way could I keep up with them by a long shot- at least not the intensity and pace, I had to modify like crazy... did any of you modify as well????

How about my fellow QVC Insanity virgin gals? What do you think?

It was such a relief to see some of the other players taking rests and collapsing on the floor.

WHY didn't you guys warn me!??!! Just kidding you did. I just had NO idea what you really meant!

I'm tired, but a good tired. Ask me if it still "good" tomorrow!! :D

A pooped Pam

WOWIE ZOWIE!!

oooooooo...... You've got me excited. I told DH this is the only thing I want for my Bday and he says he will get it for me. Bday is in May, and I'm starting the all STS rotation in April. So it will be July before I can start it.

Sounds like "fun":p

Insanity

Hi Pam,
I know exactly what you mean! lol I sweat buckets with his workouts! And the warm-up....as my son says...that's a workout in itself!

We are currently on our "Recovery" week. Well, I'm still huffing and puffing with those and I really thought I was in pretty good cardio shape!

But it's so fun!

Hi Pam! I'm a fellow Insanity virgin (has been) :) I'll be doing my 5th Insanity workout tonight. I sweat buckets during these too. It's amazing how much better you get and are able to keep up with the workout each time you do them though.

I really like this series and the way it's laid out. It moves so quickly and I'm always telling myself I can do this for 30 more seconds, lol! What a great addition Insanity is to a workout routine!

I just got mine (QVC), so I haven't done it yet... but tomorrow is a cardio day for me -- maybe I should start then?

Although, I may want to wait until my last cardio day of my workout week so I can have a day off (or five) to recover!

Thanks for the warning... I'm really nervous now! :D

Pam, glad to see you are challenged by Insanity. You will be amazed how quickly your body will crave these workouts. When I finished the insanity rotation last year I couldn't believe how far I had come.

Your post reminds me of the way I felt during the first week of Insanity. I think the one thing that surprised me the most was how much my obliques ached and i really think it was from the warm up stretches (lunge with twists).

Oh my gosh!! You all have inspired me even more!! It's sooo challenging but sooo awesome!! Can't wait to hear more of your experiences! Yeahh!

Pam

i did the 2 mo rotation. i still sweat majorly but it has gotten much easier. be ready for many pushups. i just did insane abs yesterday and feel it. i don't need to tell you how much weight and inches i lost!i am doing it again in june to be ready for summer

laura

Pam - I thought the same thing you did! I couldn't believe that when he started to do stretches that we had only been through the warmup!

The name Insanity couldn't describe it better!

I did my first insanity workout yesterday...:eek: I was not able to finish, yet. I thought the same thing -- warm up ?? -- :D

I totally remember feeling like this as well. However, I felt a great sense of accomplishment when I would finish a workout. By month 2, the warm-up will actually feel like a warm-up. :p This program is great for building endurance.

Phew! Glad it will get "easier". I did the Insane Abs yesterday also -with lots of modifications. My abs are sore anyway! I can't wait to get through the workouts and when the point comes where the warm-up is just a warm-up!! I'm pretty darn sore this morning in places I did not expect!! Ouch- hobble down the stairs!

Thanks again for all of your ecouragement!!

Pam

Are there alot of Jumping Jacks in these workouts??? The impact of Jumping Jacks bothers my knees (but a slower, almost slo-mo plyo jack does not, go figure). I dont want to invest the money if I have to modify every move! I dont mind taking breaks to catch my breath, but to have to actually change the moves altogether I'd have to pass on getting the series.

Comments??

Thanks!

Stacy,
I don't have Insanity (still debating), but I read a review on Amazon that stated not to buy Insanity if you have knee problems.HTH.

When you do these workouts do you still do weight work on your noncardio days or do you do just this program and nothing else? Thanks.

almost every workout has pushups.cardio is done 5x a week.1 day is without cardio doing lower body.you will get lean from tons of pushups.

Thanks, I did read the post about not getting Insanity if you have knees issues, but I dont have them all the time, ie. I can run on my treadmill with no problem, but cant run outdoors; can do slow plyo jacks but not fast-paced jumping jacks.

So, was wondering more specifics on the cardio moves. Is there a link with the specific cardio moves somewhere??

When you do these workouts do you still do weight work on your noncardio days or do you do just this program and nothing else? Thanks.

People have done it both ways but I personally kept weight work in when I did the Insanity rotation. I didn't feel the body weight work was enough for me. I lifted once a week while doing Insanity and it was just enough for me.
